 Alert | Arizona Blankets for Kids is holding their fall quilting bee on October 20, 2007 at the Chandler Police Dept.

Saturday, October 20 from 9 to 3
Chandler PD Community Room
250 E. Chicago, Chandler
(just S. of Chandler Blvd. and E. of Arizona Ave.)
Each person should bring a sewing machine and a walking foot if they have one. We will have layered tops to be quilted and bindings to attach. We also have kits available to make new tops. We have thread and sewing needles.
For those that don’t have a machine, there is plenty of hand work, tying quilts, sewing on labels, I think we will have fleece available at this bee to cut fringe and tie together as well.
There are several places near by to eat at, however this year, for $5.00 per person, we are going to bring in pizzas and drinks for those who want to stay on the campus.
AZ Blankets 4 Kids is an all-volunteer non-profit organization serving children in need in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Our goal is to provide comforting blankets and quilts to needy, seriously ill and traumatized children in our community.
We provide homemade quilts / blankets to Phoenix Children's Hospital, Several hospitals, CPS, the Police and Fire Depts to be given to the children. We also provide hospitals with preemie quilts to be given to each premature baby. To see a complete list of distribution sites, please check out our web page at http://www.azblankets4kids.com/
If you are unable to attend this bee but would like to donate quilts let me know. For inspiration and instructions there are patterns on the web site.
