We look forward to meeting and hanging out with other progressives. Come on over, enjoy some barbeque and potluck, discuss our society's environmental impact, and watch some great musical performances happening right now at Live Earth. Hope you can make it!

A little more info:

Saturday, July 7 may be the most significant moment for the climate since the discovery of oil. On seven continents, millions of people are gathering for Live Earth, a historic music-filled event to raise awareness and demand real solutions to the climate crisis.

MoveOn members are joining the party. In thousands of living rooms, coffee houses, bars and back yards, we'll tune into the global broadcast. We'll watch a special preview of presidential candidates answering MoveOn members' questions on the climate. And we'll share a barbeque or potluck meal together as well as enjoy great music performed at the Live Earth concert event. It's the biggest party the planet has ever needed.

LOL @ Live Earth <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/shocked.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Shocked' align='absmiddle'>

Liberalism and capitalism address themselves to the cool, well-balanced mind. They proceed by strict logic, eliminating any appeal to the emotions. Socialism, on the contrary, works on the emotions, tries to violate logical considerations by rousing a sense of personal interest and to stifle the voice of reason by awakening primitive instincts.

John Buckley of Carbon Footprint, an organization that helps companies reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, said Saturday that Live Earth will produce about 74,500 tons of the gas.

"We would have to plant 100,000 trees to offset the effect of Live Earth," he said, speaking by telephone. But, he added, "if you can reach 2 billion people and raise awareness, that's pretty fantastic."

Ya, "fantastic".
