Sounds like a great time though! Is this going to be an annual thing?

It is a very good time!!
We have been having these events scattered through the community each month since last December. We are still going strong as a once monthly event, and hope to increase interest and activities to twice monthly and to include children's interests.
Hope you can make it another time. You can stay posted on the events for now at www.katycreekband.com while we are building a web site for Maricopa Butterfield Cowboy Heritage Club.

Thanks for responding !

I hope it went well! Sure wish I could've been there.

Thanks for the tip about the website. I'll be sure to check it out, so hopefully I can attend a future event. : )

Hey , thanks for asking!
Well, it was pretty wet at starting time but there were about 20 folks who showed up. One couple was just checking out the new stores and decided to stay for the music, they stayed the entire evening ! Amazingly, we had a good number come from out of town. 3 people came down from north Phoenix, 2 were all the way from Vail, Arizona, 2 from Marana and a couple from Goodyear. Tom Hiatt, "Arizona's Cowboy Balladeer" came as well as Cowboy Poets Catherine "Lil' Bit" Devine and Jan Michael Corey. Both Bit and Jan stepped up and gave us some great recitations. I especially enjoyed Bit's original poem "Cowboy Pedigree". We kinda used the small crowd and the "professional ears" in the room to try out some of our new original material. We got really good responses last night and several positive e mails today regarding the event. We also had some folks sign up to win the $1350.00 Larrivee guitar being raffled off by the Arizona Cowboy Symposium, so that was excting also !
August is Joe Baer from Mesa Az. September is Jeff Harrison from Justuce and the Montana's. I hope Tom Hiatt will do October for us. We have two events in November with Dennis Jay up from La Vernia, Tx then Tom and Donna Hatton, poets and storytellers extrordinaire.

We'll be seeing you !
