This may shock you, Mr W, but I don't give a rat's behind where Denna lives. Yes, perhaps on your property, if YOU could stand it. As her landlord, you would be subject to her rants, but -- sharing a 1-bedroom, 1-bath trailer with 5 or 6 other folks might do her some good -- tone down that unbelievable arrogance a bit. But probably not. I guess you can't really teach someone compassion and understanding, can you?

Maybe someone progressive like me, representing the new Maricopa should run for mayor. No big money cow. No stinky factories. Better water. Better traffic. Better planning and zoning. A more cohesive partnership with our neighboring Indian tribes. More asthetically pleasing. I could clean up this stink-pit of a town!
You old timers can move to Arizona City while Maricopa blosoms into the new Chandler!

Alert | Seriously, what stinky cow parts factory are you referring in your earlier rant?
And if anyone hasn't told you - both Ak Chin and Gila River Indian Communities are heavily invested in agricultural endevours. I doubt your 'get rid of the old, the cows, more modern development' mentality would endear you to a more cohesive partnership.

Alert | Can't we all just get along? Maricopa could be developed agriculturally and industrially at the same time. There is room to grow. And in all honesty the Native Americans were here before any of us..... | | "My favorite health club is the International House of Pancakes" -- Lewis Black

Alert | Yeah- your progressive alright. just like the Germans were progressive in the early 1900's, and the Americans were progressive in 'developing' the west.
It is obvious that you were duped into the get rich quick thinking when you bought in Maricopa. Just like all the people that quit there jobs to go be real estate agents and work for mortgage or title companies. Weren't smart enough to see that the growth would not continue and the market would take a serious fall, were you? So know you think that by bulldozing all the old buildings and demanding the city fix issues beyond its control will make Maricopa paradise and you will be rich in wealth.
You are probably one of those that is driving a car that you paid almost half of what your house in now worth.
How do you plan to improve the water? How are you going to get the state to spend millions on roads to a small community when others that are larger and along major tranist lines are suffering worse (Anthem)? How are you going to convince the Indian Reservations to give up more land for your needs when all they see you doing is destroying others homes and businesses? Do you think they have forgotten the past?
Why don't you move to California and live with the rest of the snobby pie in the sky people-- oh wait -- that's right you bought in Maricopa at the high point and now your home isn't worth anywhere close to what you paid. | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Wow, I hope those lovely thoughts weren't directed at me. I will respond to them if they are.
First of all, I don't invest in real estate and this is my first home. I am a veteran and used the GI Home Loan to get it. I bought the house four years ago when prices were low. I can still sell my house, pay off my car, and have money left over in today's market.
Second, my car brand new is not half the price of my home. It was $20,000 and I got my home with upgrades for $135,000 to be exact. Besides that, I have zero debt.
Third, I don't think anyone wants to see people's homes destroyed and buildings torn down. I like the older buildings in the center of town.
Fourth, you can improve the water by building a water treatment plant. Which will also create jobs.
Should I go on????? Oh yeah, I am not from California and way to stereotype people who are from California. I could live there but I chose to live here.

Alert | JasonY - I think his comments were directed at Denna. She's done nothing but complain on the forum about just about everything, and it's wearing on most people's nerves. It's one thing to have a legitimate complaint. It's another to complain about EVERYTHING.
In the thread under Tortosa - the though of taking up a collection to help Denna move was tossed out as a suggestion.

Alert | | I love it when "City" comes to town and decides to "clean the place up". Obviously Denna has no idea where her prime rib comes from, or exactly what her leather bag is made out of. "Someone progressive like me"...then goes on to say she COULD clean up this town...well- go ahead and try. Bring on your bottled water and greater than thou attitude and see how far it takes you. I can tolerate the cow smell..well- sort of... but it is black gold to some people. BTW- there are no "cow farms" out here. Get your terminology right. People "farm" corn, wheat, beans, milo, and other crops. It is the ranchers who have the cows, horses and various other animals. Tell me Denna- "city chick gonna make it all better", what is the value of mammary areolas on a boar? If you can figure that one out- that is my definition of your thoughts and values as far as I am concerned. Touche!

Alert | You said "areolas" <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>
The body of the wild boar is compact, the head is large, the legs relatively short. The fur consists of stiff bristles and usually finer fur. The colour usually varies from dark grey to black or brown, but there are great regional differences in colour, even whitish animals are known from central Asia. During winter the fur is much denser.
The size also varies highly within the range. Full grown female wild boars (5 years or older) have a body length of about 135 cm and a weight of 55-70 kg in central Europe, while adult males reach 140-150 cm and weigh between 80 and 90 kg there. In some areas, like Astrachan and the Caucasus wild boars grow much larger, with males reaching a body length of 200cm and a weight of 200 kg. Even in parts of western France, Boar have been caught weighing around 100 kg. In the 1930s animals weighing 260 kg were shot in the Volga delta and at the Syr Daria. In the Russian Far East and the Carpathians, males of more than 300 kg have reported, but due to intensive hunting, the size of wild boars has declined. Currently, animals weighing 200 kg are counted as very large.
The tusks serve as weapons and grow continually. The lower tusks of an adult male measure about 20cm (from which seldom more than 10 cm protrude out of the mouth), in exceptional cases even 30 cm. The upper tusks are bent upwards in males, in females they are smaller, and the upper tusks are only slightly bent upwards in older individuals.

Alert | I'm going to say it... someone hit the alert button... Swine don't have areolas - they have teats. (NOTE the spelling - it IS the correct word!)
I didn't have wild boars - I had domestic sows - my not so little piggies had 12 teats.

And JasonY - BarrelRacerBlonde was not referring to boar as in a wild swine from Asia. She was referring to boar as in male hog - indicating the useless value of mammary glands on a male.
