Good Idea, the only setback I see is all the crappy file sharing sites that promote illegal downloads

In the age of sharing music over the internet, why would anyone frequent a used music store? I remember going to Zia when I was a kid, but that was a LONG time ago.

I agree....

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

Because there are people out there, believe it or not, who would rather legally purchase their music than risk a lawsuit by the RIAA. Not to mention some people just like having the actual CD, cassette, record, whatever.

I am actually trying to work a commercial license with iTunes where I can sell music in the store at a reduced rate, let's say $.50 per song, and you download it right there and transfer it to your iPod in the store. The advantage is the song only costs 1/2 what you would pay through iTunes directly, the disadvantage being you may only be able to have the song on one device.

I think that this is a great idea, hopefully you will have it running soon. Good luck!

I actually frequent Zia quite a bit still. It would be nice to have something local.

I think it's an awesome idea! Don't listen to all these IDIOTS that purchase their music off Itunes or any other online crap. I still visit ZIA RECORDS and there is nothing like shopping at a music store. Nothing compares to buying a cd or lp, taking it home and reading the liner notes.

Cool. I should check it out. I really want the Primitive Enema CD...but last time I checked with a record store it was out of print. Bleh.

Have you heard of them before? Or did you just google them? I haven't come across anyone that heard them before.

Thanks for the info

No, I never heard of them before your post.  I just searched for them on youtube.  If you google search "youtube mp3", it will take you to the free program to take the mp3 audio track from the vid.

 Spoken like a musician

After my band spent thousands in a studio to record our cd I decided that i would never steal music again. It gave me a new respect for what artists have to go through to hone their craft and make quality music. I too love Zia, and wish this place would have worked out.

I have a ton of old CDs for sale/credit that I stopped listening to a long time ago. Anyone like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Coverdale Page, Stone Temple Pilots, etc?
