I have been a home theater kind of guy for along time now. We go to the movies for the must see big screen type of movies. My wife had one of those must see movies just recently and it cost me $39.00 to get 4 of us through the door. We had thought ahead and grabbed some snacks from the store. I looked at the prices and we would have spent another $30-40 total on a drinks and a snack for each of us. At those prices I can buy 4 or 5 DVD's and have my own film festival..lol. That being said I would still go to a movie every now and then when and if its built.

AZ .. I agree. We took the kids to see Madagascar II and were lucky enough to have 1 free movie pass and smart enough to stop at CVS for candy ... had we not it would have been well over $100 for a kids movie for a family of 5. CRAZY!!! I do love the move theater experience though and will go to the movies if/when we get one in town, and of course my kids will frequent the theater with their friends on the weekends too. Gotta have something in this town to do!!!!!!

When I take the kids, we go to the drive in. $9.25 for 1 adult and 3 kids to watch a movie, plus we bring our own food and nobody cares

But if there were a theater in town, I'd much rather not drive to scottsdale! Plus I would go while the kids were in school, and new releases, and AHH!!! We need a theater!

i generally prefer my home set up, but once in a while i prefer the theater. I can't wait until there is one in maricopa. i haven't been to a movie in years, and don't care to drive to chandler or gilbert just to see a movie. i would be going to a lot more if it was 5 minutes down the road.

Although, we haven't been to a drive in since we moved here in 05, we did enjoy going. It was cool to see the double features for the price.

One downside, the movie combos chosen together. One year, we trekked 45 minutes or so to see "Shark Tales". That was the second movie. The first? The Grunge. so the Grunge starts at at dusk around 6:30 and the "family movie" starts when the kids are dozing off.... brilliant.lol.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to a movie theatre in Maricopa.

Side note: one place I thought "looks like a drive in" close by; the museum on Maricopa RD /Queencreek Rd off I-10.

We go, too! It cost $22 for all six of us to see a double feature. We bring our own food, too.

I also go to Tempe Cinemas ($3 per ticket) and Chandler Cinemas ($2 per ticket). Rarely do we see a movie at full price.
