Mmmmm....I would probably say no. They blame all of the Maricopa red tape but I can't believe red tape takes over a year before a business can open up.

Really? They blamed Maricopa? I thought there was a hold up with corporate.

Does anyone really know what is going on with this? It has been just about a year since we first started hearing about it. Why doesn't the lady who used to tell us about it keep us posted anymore?

Don't know any details but I heard from my neighbor there will be no Maui Waui. It is a "no go" despite the sign being up. I guess I won't be having my kona coffee anytime soon!

Say it ain't so!!! Do we need to write/campaign 'corporate' to help get it going?

I don't know anyone associated with it, but just the fact that McDonalds is selling coffee drinks wouldn't have been good for them, especially with a drive through. If they were in the same strip mall and Maui was going to open, McDonald's couldn't sell it, so that says a lot. I don't know if they are considered the same development, but they are linked by parking.

...then Maui should take their sign down, quit teasing us and be done with it!

Not quite sure why everyone has to lie in this town about their business "Ramsey'. Have you noticed that Kazoo's cafe has a notice on their door due to failure to pay rent and that no one is to enter to retrieve equipment. As a resident I would just love the truth sometime.

I previously had 1 trillion posts!

If I recall, she has been banned from this site. That would make it mighty difficult to update.

I've heard nothing of it failing to open. Until such a statement is issued, it would be very sad if people were to churn up negative feelings because of gossip. It's just a smoothee to most people. To those who have invested in this business and who are trying to get it off the ground - it's their life.

Boymaker, I haven't heard anything either, and I hope my post didn't sound that way.  I just know from a business standpoint how it looks.  Even though they aren't the same development, if they are joined by a parking lot and Maui has exclusivity, then McDonald's can't sell espresso drinks.  But they are.  I don't wish ill will on anyone.

Maui Waui can't have a coffee/espresso exclusive.  Starbucks is in Bashas and its about as connected as the McDonalds.

In this time I don't know how anyone could get or expect to maintain exclusivity. If that's the excuse from corporate for not opening, it's not a company I would invest in. Coffee and Smoothie machines are everywhere on every corner. They need to have a little more confidence in their product being superior enough to draw the customer. In these tough economic times it might not be there. Maybe they are protecting this investor from going belly-up. JMO

Well I had an Iced Coffee at a McDonalds last week and must say it was VERY GOOD! Have already tried their regular coffee and it's improved to a point where I'd go to McDonalds if I were just buying a cup of 'Joe'.
I truly hope that Maui Waui makes it, but I've stopped looking forward to it with all these delays and the disappointing taste and price of my mini smoothie at the Salsa Festival.

I really hope that they can pull through whatever redtape is holding them back. McD's does have a good iced coffee, and we have coffee areas in Fry's and Basha's, and now Kazoo's is closed. I was just hoping we would have a nice spot again to have a cup of coffee or a smoothie.
But, as the tough times keep coming, only time will tell. Entrees Made Easy has a for lease sign on their doors I guess they are not coming back from their "time off".

They have a very expensive looking sign on the building and on the monument sign, by the road.

A couple of weeks ago my car battery died in the fry's parking lot; I was parked at the very end near that construction field.  Anyway, I saw the white Ford F-150 truck with the Maui Wowi logos on the side of the truck.  I have seen this truck drive every once in a while in this area, so I knew it was the Maui Wowi lady that used to be here or her husband.

Anyway, I had to get the car jumped and I actually walked home to get my other vehicle in the garage and as I returned back to my car that needed to be jumped, I saw the maui wowi lady walking towards her truck with a iced smoothie/coffee type drink from frys.

She seemed nice, but I thought it was pretty ironic.  Not that she shouldn't be allowed to buy smoothies or other drinks from elsewhere as her business is not up and running....but still.......kinda ironic.

I see their truck all the time.  If the Maui Waui wasn't happening, you would think they would take the sign off the door.

That sucks.  If they were trying to use a second on their house, well we all know how that goes right now.
