Its not a AMC.  Its a REGAL theatre.

No, it's not one of those either.  If you do a little searching, you can find out what the name is.  They are opening their first theater in AZ within the next month.  Several more will follow.

It's really hard to believe anyone now a days.  Kind of like the little boy who cried wolf story.

The ones that come on here with BS information has made it really difficult to believe anything anymore.   Guess they live off of the reaction that they can get from people.

So the "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude unfortunately is very true now.  I like it before when we didn't have that and information that was given was correct.

Guess those days are gone.

I am not trying to provide any misinformation.  My friend signed this deal with this movie theater company many, many months ago.  He swore me to secrecy about the name.  I've dropped hints here and there, so it shouldn't be impossible to figure out with a little web saavy.  I will say it's not a Regal, it's not an AMC and it's not a Harkins.

Well, you're pretty much spilling the beans already. I don't think your friend would even appreciate you giving as much information as you did.

Just go ahead and spill all the beans...

My final answer in regards to this movie company mystery is:

UltraStar Cinemas.

www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/business/articles/0413biz-surprisepointe0413.html

I realize this article is in reference to the West Valley, but it does mention that there will be 6 additional theatres opening in metro Phoenix within the next 3 years.

If this is who's going to be building in Maricopa, I wish them the best of luck because Phoenix is an uber-competitive market.

Are they planning on digital projection at this location?

Actually, this deal is already known by a ton of people in the industry.  So, it's not like this is some secret deal.  But, I was told to keep the name out of it.  But, if you look at the past two posts, one of them has the right information.

I hate walmart, but love Regal. Regal was what we had in Macon.

We had UltraStar and Regal both in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area where I used to live. UltraStar was the 'budget' chain, mostly older theaters, but a first-run slate, convenient schedule and decent prices.

Regal also has United Artists and a couple of other chains in the same family, now owned by the same guy who brought you Qwest and the Staples Center...Philip Anschutz.

I look forward to having more choice in our little town!

Its going to be a big one...
http://www.carlsbad.org/EditionDetail.aspx?aid=1258

The Carlsbad Business Journal interviewed Alan Grossberg, the president and CEO of UltraStar, about the company and the business of operating 86 screens at 10 sites throughout Southern California.

CBJ: What do you see for the future of UltraStar?

Grossberg: We will continue to be the industry leader in adding the latest technologies, including 3-D presentations and satellite broadcasts. We are currently expanding into Arizona with three new complexes this year, including a 14-screen megaplex in Surprise, a 10-screen megaplex in Lake Havasu and a 14-screen megaplex in Maricopa. In addition, UltraStar is continuing to look for new and exciting opportunities in San Diego and other areas in Southern California.

When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail."

I checked Ultra Star's website, They do have Lake Havasu and Suprise locations listed as "opening soon". No other location in AZ is listed. It could be the timeframe of the openings are closer.

Just a Note: Ulta Star has a location in apple valley, Ca, near property where we had planned to build. I have not been to the Ultra Star, but I've heard good things.

in Maricopa, AZ?  We have been hearing RUMORS about it for some time on
our local blog site.  I just wanted to set people straight if you all
were not even looking at Maricopa,az.  Thank you for your time.  Nathan

I'd add that the film would actually have to start.

Yeah, I stated it was incorrect information.  The correct information has been posted here, though.
