07/10/2008 11:50 AM Alert

I was driving through Basha's about 30 minutes ago and noticed the for sale sign up in the window as well as notices on the windows. Didn't stop to read them but I'm guess they are gone.

I'm not all that surprised as we live in a community with 10 different pizza places and I tried this place once and it's wasn't all that great.

Any info?

No info. However I am going to miss it. I don't like commercial pizza and I don't drink commerial coffee.  I much rather have a mom and pop pizza. I really miss Nick and Nino's pizza too. I guess another dollar of mine won't be spent on pizza in Maricopa.

My son liked them too. I liked the fried mushrooms.

Guess it is Bashas pizza from now on and maybe Rosati's on occasion

Just wait until Wal-Mart and Hope Depot open. Can you say "No more small business"

But hey... there are 100 part time jobs without benefits you could have

Great News! The pizza sucked and they should have been fined for selling pizza worse than Tombstone. Here's some advice Mr. Fat Daddy..NEVER try and make pizza! You sucked at it.
I'm sorry that your business didn't do to well, but try something else.

Fry's was smart about the 10 for $10 frozen pizzas, which could also be a culprit to them closing.  It's just more cost efficient for today's household budget, because I know alot of parents agree that alot of pizza is consumed during summer vacation.

I know but they had different ingredients in it... Maybe they should have used the ingredients that were in the calzone for their pizza's... LOL

My family and I tried Fat Daddy's Pizza one time, and never again.  Maybe it was just the pizza that we got that day, but it had a salty taste to it.   Needless to say, we never ordered from there again.  The pizza was disgusting.

We used to order from Nick and Nino's too.  We were a pretty big fan of their pizza until the day that I had 2 large pizza's delivered, and found a dead fly in one of the boxes. I called the pizza parlor,  they sent us a new pizza, but they didn't seem like they were too concerned about it. In fact the delivery driver that brought the second pizza just said, "oops it happens", and tried to make a joke out of it.   After that experience, I refused to order from there again.  It was a shame, because we really liked the food from there, but it made me think twice about how sanitary they really were.  Maybe that's why they went out of business.

Just for your info, Nick & Nino's moved to Gila Bend. They have an Italian restaurant there. Saw it one time while out riding, that is when gas was less that 3.00 a gallon.

lol @ the brutal comments made about the taste of their pizza.

But to be honestt, I have to agree...the pizza was not the best tasting pizza.  I've only had them once, and that was when we first moved here 3 years ago.  I've read the forums from time to time and it seems to me that nothing really changed, so I never felt the need to try them.  I will say though, that they were very nice people and they were very courteous.....their customer service far exceeded their pizza.

I believe though, deep down inside that Fat Daddy's was a social experiment to see who really has bad taste in pizza and who has the normal taste in pizza.

Everytime I heard someone say..."yeah, fat daddy's is good," they fall into the category of not knowing what a good pizza should taste like.  Not their fault though......but with 10 other pizza chains flowing through the veins of maricopa, there is too much competition and too good of pizza at other locations to pass up.

For those who like any of the pizza places around here all I can say is don't go to NY and have real pizza. It will totally ruin it for you when you come back home! This will seem barely edible to you any more.
