I am personally looking forward to Walmart coming to town.  I spend 395 at Fry's and barely get one cart of food.  I can spend the same dollar amout at Walmart and come away with two carts stacked to the rim.  It isn't rocket science.  In today's hard economic time, we need all the help we can get.  It will also be nice to get everything in one stop.  Unfortunately, I am so new to this town that I haven't had a chance to check out all the local businesses, but I do plan on it eventually.

I went by there Sunday and it looked like there was quite a few roofing supports and a crane sitting there.

I would prefer a Target, but I have to agree overall grocery prices are lower  at Wally World than Fry's.  I even contacted Target to see if they have plans to come to Maricopa, and they don't.  I came from the West Valley where there were two Wal-Marts and Target's  within 5 or 10 minutes of where I lived.   Things like Diapers, etc. are so much cheaper not to mention food.    So for things like kids clothes and everything else where is the closest Target or WalMart?   The drive to Casa Grande or Chandler?  From what I understand they are both about 40 minutes away (per mapquest) or is there a quicker way?  I hope so or my ice cream will melt

The distance from here to Chandler or to Casa Grande is about the same. I feel that it is faster going to Casa Grande than Chandler. There is a lot less traffic on the Casa Grande highway thatn there is on the 347. Granted there is not a Sam's Club, or Costco that I know of in Casa Grande, but there is everything else. I work in Casa Grande, so I can find out for sure.

Bon Jovi Fan - Assuming it's not rush hour, you can be in Chandler in 25-30 mins. There's a Target at Queen Creek and Alma School or Ray and I-10. There's a Walmart at Arizona off the 202 or Elliott and I-10.

I hate Walmart and avoid it if at all possible I have seen way to many smaller towns and cities destroyed by walmart coming into town like Festus MO and Litchfield IL after Walmart comes into town and runs the rest of the business out. In Litchfield they drove Kroger out of business until it was just the Walmart and the IGA left and when Walmart got the upper hand the food quailty went into the trash. I even caught the manger from the Walmart buying his meat from the IGA because he would not even feed the meat from Walmart to his own Family. Walmart needs to go away and far away I wish it was a Target instead

Litchfield is in southern Illinois so that doesn't surprise me. They're all backwards there.
Target will run out the mom and pop store too. Just admit it and carry on. The steam rolller of progression stops for no one.....

Yep, there are some walls coming up now I am getting tired of having to drive to work, back home, and then have to go back into town to get things we need for the casa. Because Fry's & Basha's is just not cutting it. And I agree with desertroze, I do save money shopping there as well.
