I know this may have been discussed over and over on here but I dont check this very often. What is going on with the nasty looking medians on 347, especially the ones between Rancho El Dorado/Cobblestone Farms and on down towards town? If you look at any other of the cities in the East Valley they have nice manicured landscaping on the medians with trees, bushes, cactus, and rock. Its not expensive to do. Rock costs about $35 a ton. If they put weedstop paper down and rocks and desert landscaping that does not require much water this town would start to look like a nice little city. I hope that our city officials want to compete with our neighbors in Chandler, Ahwatukee, and Casa Grande. By not attempting to clean up easily fixable areas, our officials are making a big big mistake. Potential businesses, investors, and home buyers are looking not only for a good price but a nice looking area too. Because 347 is really the only way in and out of Maricopa it is the area that all traffic passes by. This town has a severe sore spot and unfortunately that sore spot is smack dab in the middle of the city for everybody to see day in and day out. Mr. Mayor, do something about it soon! Heck, have adopt a median drives if you have to and maybe local businesses or clubs will sponsor a median project. Just a thought.

I agree the city really needs to take this on. I know several folks have said it falls on ADOT since it is a state highway, but as several sources have confirmed ADOT is more than willing to let the city do it.

On down towards which town? If you're talking about towards Phoenix, that's Tribal land which the city of Maricopa has no say over.

If that land is owned by the tribes, I'm sure they would mind letting the town keep it nice.....it looks terrible.

They were out there this morning cleaning the medians up. I told the city how I felt about the filthy medians and roads in the Copa!
