Does anyone know how this is coming along, have they started construction? I live in RED so I never go down that way.

Last time I went over there (about a week ago), they were still pushing dirt around. They were installing culverts in the small wash that parallels the highway for the drive ways, etc. They also were working on Porter Rd. No buildings yet.

i drive that way everyday for work and they have been pushing dirt around for the last couple of months. There moving really slow so i think it will be probably a year or so before its even close to being done but with our luck im sure they will decide to pull up and not build it.

<--- Not excited about a Wallmart. Would rather seea Movie theater!

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

I sure hope something comes soon. Walmart, Target, maybe even a Ross Dress for Less! I guess I will have to keep doing the drive to either Chandler or Casa Grande till then. B.T.W. the Tar-szay (Target) is now open down in C.G. It is actually looking to be a really nice shopping center when everything opens up!

About equidistant, but easier to get to during peak times and less crowded inside the actual stores. That's in addition to the aforementioned benefit of keeping our tax dollars within our County. ;-)

That place will have a Super Wal Mart, Home Depot, Sports Authority, a store that has the same size requirements as Kohls, Chili's, Car Wash, Movie Theaters and more.

Anyone heard anything since these posts? I am really excited for that WalMart to go in - that would be LOVELY!!!

On a separate but related note, has anyone heard anthing about a Home Depot or a Lowes coming into town? How about a Barnes & Noble or a Borders? A Petco or a Petsmart?

C'mon people, let's get this town a-movin' and a-grovin'!

According to rumors... a Home Depot is supposed to be going in at the same shopping center as Wal-Mart, but it will be in a later phase of the development. Of course there are also numerous other places they have been rumored to supposedly be going in, but the Wal-Mart development is the one I hear the most... do with that what you will, but that's what I know.

There is a Petco going in at the Promenade in Casa Grande. Or is it a PetSmart? I confuse the two. :-)

Beyond that, I've heard nothing about Borders or Barnes and Noble. Those tend to crop up in larger cities though, so it may be a while.
