which way do you turn on papago road?? Is papago road where you turn for the leaf and feather?

Tens of THOUSANDS of pure-bred dogs are killed in shelters in the Us EVERY YEAR!

JB - I know exactly where it is- I do not know where Leaf and Feather is, but Papago Rd is after Harrah's, with a sign pointing, and stating "Santa Rosa Cooling." (Or, at least I hope its still there! That was my landmark to turn! Otherwise I always blew by it.)

And, you can only turn right, coming from Maricopa. There is no left turn, unless you want to drive into the fields.

We have friends who live out there.

I can't wait to try it!

Yes, there is a pool table.

Stop in and say hi to Rand (the owner) while you're there.

We don't exactly want to keep it a secret -- because I know that Rand will need townie business to keep the place open. But whenever a new place opens up in town, all you people flock to it en masse and then spend the next few weeks on this board trashing the place in horrible and ugly ways. I think that, by letting the word out slowly, we "regulars" are trying to help the new owners to get things up and running before the business gets too busy.

Well I'm gonna have to try that out. If I can get inside without having to change my coveralls or scrape the pig poo off my boots, then it's my kinda place. For those of us who don't drink, do they have toad lickin' ?

Okay MT, name me ONE restaurant that has opened in Maricopa in the last two years where this has NOT happened. This is a pattern that I have seen over and OVER and OVER again. This is "our" first true, locally-owned-and-operated restaurant -- excuse me if I'm being a little protective.

It's okay if it takes you awhile to think of an eating establishment that hasn't been trashed on this board...I'll wait...

Sapo

P.S. As a matter of a fact -- ONE place in Maricopa that has gotten rave reviews on this message board has been the Sunrise Cafe. But in a 4-page thread filled with complements, ONE poster has whined and complained about the food. Who was it?? YOU!! So keep your hurt feelings to yourself. Generalizations, in this case, may be in order.

I didn't whine just stated that their breakfast was dry... OMG what was I thinking!!!

You asked a question to prove your point and then PS yourself wrong...

All I asked for was directions don't get you panties in a twist there hot shot....

Not everyone has to agree. We are all entitled to our own opinion. No place gets rave reviews from EVERYONE..simmer down a little would ya? geez

I agree with Sapo for the most part. What I would hate to see happen is that not only the new bar and gill get trashed but our way of life. We may only be a few miles from “town” but there is a big difference in the way people live between those miles. I am hoping that this place stays a little country. I also hope that people respect that not everyone in this bar will be there for a loud DJ and there next one night stand like I saw the very few times I ever went to Ramsey’s...

I was so nice to sit back have a conversation with my husband I was able to hear and enjoy a cold beer!

I was only looking for a place to play pool... and got looped in to this drama *sigh*

Oh yeah, I might not live down Papago road but have been here for 5 years. (Since phase 1 of Rancho) There was barely anything here and have watched it grow and welcomed any all all new businesses. I try to support all the businesses out here when possible and am not in anyway looking to see anymore close....

just a frickin' pool table......<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/laugh.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Laugh' align='absmiddle'>

I gave up trying to hear my beer years ago.

The problem is people need to get over the differences between townies and the hicks. We all probably have more in common than we would like to admit. The differences are in the superficial, our properties and belongings. The similarities in the types of values and goals we have.

i guess i've gotten too citified since moving to maricopa from the ranch, but exactly how does one differentiate the odor of pig poo from the odor of, say, cow poo???

Oh, there is a distinct and discernable odor. Pig poo is more acrid and immediate while cow poo is more pungent and sustaining. If you're gonna be a hick, you gotta know your poo
