07/23/2008 12:28 AM Alert

I received an updated email from the planning exec. from Peter Piper Pizza yesterday and he informed me they are not sure about when.  He is hoping for spring of 2009 depending on the economy and if the housing market starts to rise again!

Neither looks to be promising for spring 09. One never knows, but I wouldn't hold my breath if those are the conditions necessary.

I would like to see Peter Piper here.

The least they can do, is fix the road that leads to Fry's from the south side.

that isnt a road meant for regular travel to &from the store&the villages, its for unloading trailers. dont be lazy and take the route everyone else takes

Yes! Absolutely, the road behind the store is for the loading and unloading of trucks people!

However, I for one, must admit that I preferred to come in through the Villages and turn BEFORE the building, coming around the front by the main door (into the produce dept). I prefer to park on this side of the building, PLUS going that way avoids all the traffic and lights at Smith-Enke & 347. Why hit that conjestion if one doesn't have to!!??!!

Anyway, due to the traffic abuse (and frustration of the truck drivers) when that route WAS open, I can not blame Fry's or the land owner one bit for not reopening that entrance. Imagine now though, all the frustration we (as Maricopian drivers) have probably instilled upon the truck drivers. Now they probably have to back out of that alley after unloading their truck!!

That was the route that "everyone else takes". Especially if they're heading back to toward pecan park via the villiages. The gas station has increased congestion getting in and out of the parking lot by quite a bit. They need another route out of there without crossing the entire parking lot in front of the store or near the gas station. The rest of us are having to deal with two semi-precarious unprotected lefts to get onto Honeycutt.

Am I lazy because I liked to use that road? Perhaps. But it was a whole lot safer than getting back on 347 to turn left. For that alone I wish they would reopen it. Of course, it helps that it was a lot faster too.

That street should be re-opened because of the messy traffic issues that the gas station has caused. It's a safety hazard to have traffic merge onto 347 via Edison, gas customers to exit onto 347, and access to Fry's, all in such a short span of road.

you could take the frys light south towards the edison light&then head towards the villages. not a huge inconvenience but yeah i can see peoples points. imagine how bad it would/will be when that PPP&whatever else is going there, gets built.

It's not a street, it's a driveway.

I have come across some reliable info. A new general contractor is going to take over the MS site and start construction very soon. Also I was told that there will be a Rite Aid built on the same site.

Rite Aid? With a Walgreens and CVS, I would love to see something more useful.

With the crowd at walgreen's, and the difficult access point to CVS I would love to see one of the other planned stores opened.

There is a walgreens planned for The Wells, there is a cvs planned for the intersection of Porter and Honeycutt.

I look forward to the dirt just being gone. Apparently, the city has a fast track program to get businesses on their feet. McD's the first to take advantage of it. Maybe this will be the change that beckons new businesses to open.

I would like to see a diner open up out here.
