347 construction is really nothing. How many of you had to live through the expansion of I-10 where it meets the 202 and Pecos? They had all kinds of crazy temporary shifts and closures going on all through out the project, which took a lot longer than a few months.

At the same time they were working on the I-10 and Chandler bridge so that wasn't an option. And you thought traffic going out of Maricopa was bad?

Some of you guys keep saying, "stop complaining, you chose to live here, stop beinga victim". I am saying, "nobody signed up for this".

Nobody should be subjected to aweful planning. People mention, "oh it has to be 85 degrees for the road to set right". Well then do it during the Summer. It isn't like AZ has too few months where it his hot for 24 hours a day. The in town road wasn't terrible. As a citizen, I would have been more than willing to wait until Summer for them to do the in town road work so they could do it at night-time off of peak hours.

Some of you just have low expectations and some of you sleepy town, do everything nice and slow, folk who sit around in traffic with nothing better to do aren't representative of everyone. Most of us have schedules and places to be at certain times. Sitting in traffic for hours a day that could have been avoided makes us angry. One of you is likely the mayor or his wife trying to protect their job. Didn't we fire the last city manager?

Denna.....with you all the way on this one. People are always making comparisons of things that are worse off than us. How about comparing us to things that are better. Most of the ones saying you should've know, blah, blah, blah, don't commute on this crappy road. If they did, they'd be singing a different tune. We need to aim higher, because right now, we're at, or near the bottom. I believe it would be beneficial, for the new, or current mayor, along with city councilmen, commute on the 347 for 1 month. See how it makes an impact on our attitudes, and time spent away from our families. This road is screaming for updating. No, not repaving. If we have to wait, how about at the least, start a dialogue with the different agencies to agree to up the enforcement. Do something, it is not another agencies problem Maricopa. It's time to have leaders lead.

You truly don't understand then. Rubberized asphalt requires a specific temperature range to cure. there are only about 4-5 months that the temperature is right. We're in that time now.

Normally at this time we wouldn't even be this hot. Remember, we have had record heat now for about a month. This rubberizing should have been scheduled months ago. But then again ADOT was never on schedule to begin with....They got lucky we have had this record heat..
Also the difference with other freeway contruction is that it is improving the highway(more lanes, capacity, hov etc.) that's not happening on the 347. If it was, I'm sure we all would be a lot more tollerant of the construction.

Why was it necessary to put "rubberized asphalt" down in the first place? Isn't rubberized asphalt used to deaden road noise? Who was being bothered by the road noise, the wild horses along the reservation?
