Alert | It sounds from your description like your husband may have been in the right lane as he approached Maricopa Road. I always use the left lane because of idiots who pull out of Maricopa Road in front of me.
The natural reaction for anyone faced with a collision in front of them is to swerve. It's a split second reaction and there is not a lot of time to analyze the situation. Problem is, sometimes they swerve into someone else making the collision their fault, or they lose control as in this case.
RoyalPITA, you should have your husband buy a lottery ticket. He's a very lucky man. I am glad he was able to walk away from that and I hope they catch the inconsiderate jerk that caused the accident. | | Stupid should hurt!

Alert | OMG! Thank GOD your husband is ok. I couldn't get it out of my mind yesterday evening and, prayed for the person or persons in that car.
All I saw a head of me was a ball of dust go across the medium & across the northbound lanes into the ditch.
My husband picked up the phone to call 911 but as Sara mentioned many people on the North bound lanes sprung into action.
I do hope they catch the person in the Beamer and that your husband makes a full recovery.
Best of Luck Norcal

I'm sorry to hear that, and glad to hear he is OK. That is a dangerous intersection and swerving can produce results such as that. He might want to look into a highway survival course at Bondurant, I hear that they are quite good at training for accident avoidance. It would have been far better to hit the BMW driver.</div>
Sometimes you suprise me dude, but this isn't the thread to go into it.
| | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Joined old forum March 2006 Post count: 3068 + these | |

Alert | Posted By Jason on 11/07/2007 11:26 AM Posted By Silence on 11/07/2007 7:21 AM They work if you let them sorry, i worded that wrong. jason's problem is he doesn't make his little comments at the appropriate time. the way he worded this one was nice until he suggested driving school. implying that the husband would not have wrecked if he learned how to drive better at bondurant. i think it a compulsion about having to reply if he thinks he knows something. 2300+ posts has got to tell you something. This was a nice thread, until you stepped in. My comment wasn't rude but it was a helpful suggestion to someone who could have been a fatal crash. In no way was I being rude or suggesting he was at fault. In case this person doesn't know about this school I thought I'd suggest it, because I hear it is very good. They train you to avoid situations just like this and get out without rolling your car. I was only trying to be helpful. Quit shooting your mouth off and ruining other people's threads. I'm not going to argue it further, I don't want to take away from this thread. Just know that I was only trying to be helpful.
okay master jason. you are correct as always. please do not force the wrath uponst me.

I feel bad that he was in an accident. BMW driver was totally at fault. I suggested something for his wife to suggest to him once is is feeling OK again, which might help prevent swerving and rolling the car.
I apologize, since it sounds like it came off that I was blaming him for the crash and that was not intended. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | Jason, I do stand down. Your comment came off as harsh and faulting the victim as I read it. Your follow up was more informative and I do agree that defensive driving courses are benefificial to anyone that drives. I drive about 60,000 miles a year right now and I hate stupidity on the road. Stupidity and speed, that is what kills in the end. (Yep, slowness too) I do have issues with some of your comments about speed, but not on this thread. I still want more info about the offender. I want him turned in for causing the crash. Too often, they are not caught and all responsabilty falls on the victim.
