Alert | As mentioned before... I like the vibration
I won't lie... I speed. I don't drive crazy, but if no one is in front of me or around me, I'm not gonna mosey about at 45 mph. So being that when I drive home, it's almost 7, not TOO many people on the road and the milled lane is dang near empty... so I hop in that lane and fly to the copa!
Also, I have noticed that only the people in the smoothe lane get rocks thrown at their windshields... I never do, not even with a truck in front of me in the milled lane.
I only have one more week of the 347 anyhoo... and I'll drive on the milled lane that whole week! | | I'm moving back to civilization on 9/1!!

Alert | | Miss Megan! thank you leaving 347. Why wait until 9/1? I hope you can find a new vibration in your new location. One more idiot off the road! Thank you! Alert | My sister had to replace her windshield last week after a tree branch went thru it, thank goodness it was on the passenger side so she wasn't injured, then today i had to replace 2 tires, and i have off road tires but they have taken a beating on this road...they would on any road, 347 is no different, just easy to balme...
last night all they had open was the milled lane and they weren't even working on it but it was all blocked off so we didn't have a choice on what lane to be in. | | ~Joined March 2005~

Alert | | Its one thing to drive in the milled lane when the Paved lane is closed, but when its open and available, why choose the rough road over the smooth one? If the milled lane had 2 foot deep potholes I bet these people would still drive in it, no matter how much damage it did to their suspension..just to save a couple minutes. I think its stupid. Oh, and I have yet to be hit by a rock in the smooth lane. The milled lane has all the rocks and the inconsiderate speeders kick them up weaving back and forth from lane to lane trying to pass people. Save your car and have some consideration for other and stay to the right.

Alert | | As I said earlier maybe if your car is a pile and about to fall apart driving in the milled lane will destroy it but for any decent car you are not going to damage anything. Stop trying to tell others how to live their lives. If someone wants to drive there let them. Don't tread on me.

Alert | | I drive on the milled lane. My vehicle is able enough to go on it, but I don't do it all the time. Sometimes, and I said sometimes, some people drive quite slow on the paved lane.

Alert | The milled lane is in better shape than what the 347 was in before. It is the pot holes and cracks that will do damage to your car. The milled lane- though noisy- is a fairly consistent surface for your tires (your tire covers several of the holes at once therefor not causing any damage). The milled lane heading south is now actually quite smooth from all the trucks and it is where the new surface mets the milled surface that all the rocks are being kicked up from.
Yes- I drive in it because it allows me to drive at a consistent speed and my tires and suspension are just fine. | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Alert | What I don't Understand..
Is why it matters to you. If I drive in the milled lane. I don't think it really hurts you in any way. If it damages my car why would you care. It's not like I am asking you to pay for it.
Just a thought.. | | | |

All of that happens in the milled lane too so why the extra wear on your car? If its gonna happen anyway, you might as well have it happen in a smooth lane. I just think its funny. A car is an investment and its not often that its cheap to fix, so why not take care of it and drive on good roads when the opportunity arises?

Anyone who thinks a car is an investment obviously has no clue...... SHNUGENS!!!

Alert | why a second layer before finishing the first did you notice the core hole in the first layer they check to see if is at the proper thickness per contract many contracts pay as you go so the contracter finishes one part to pay for the next part that way he doesnt need to front all the money for a prodject sure hope the core holes came up short so he is placing another layer instead of taking out and redoing the first 2 in. topping the orriginal 4 in. is got to be better than just the 4 in.

Alert | | I've been only using the milled lane to pass because I don't like driving slowly, but now the milled lane seems almost the better of two evils. I guess ADOT thought we were getting spoiled being able to drive almost the whole way in each direction on a nice smooth lane (even though it was only 1 lane.) Nope, getting whipped back and forth by the groves if you are brave enough to venture into the left lane isn't bad enough. They have to go and mess up the right lane by paving the outside half of it and leaving a 2-3" lip right where the natural travel line for the right side wheels would be. The SB side isn't so bad but the NB side is ridiculous. I watch cars bouncing off the lip all the way up it. Some decide its slightly less inconvenient to have 1 high and 1 low side and they straddle it. Either way it doesn't make for a pleasant ride. I sometimes wonder if they are laughing as we painfully make our daily commutes across this nightmare of a construction zone.

Alert | I have four wheel drive I don't care. My truck is used to it anyways thats what it was make for. Not to mention, its none of your freakin business what side of the road I drive on anyways. Its my car and I will do whatever I want to it, so get over it.
PS Drummer72 I have never seen anybody riding a bicyle down the 347, but if they actually do well then they deserve to be hit by a car because that is just plain stupid. Hope they have some darn good life insurance!
