where do I get "property owner’s tax evaluation notice, listing the residence township, range and section"?

you could try to contact the pinal county assesors office if you own the house, or contact DMV to see what other documents are exceptable.

They have to except something other than the property tax notice, if they didn't how else could a renter proove their residence?

Go to www.servicearizona.com to change your registration address. Once it is changed to Maricopa, AZ, you should not need to get the emissions test.

incorrect.

Maricopa is a partial exempt zone, meaning if you live here and work or go to shool in the testing area you need to have your car tested. if you live and work in maricopa you do not need testing

Your registration renewal will be stamped as emissions test required until you fill out the form claiming you do not work or go to school in the testing area. read the entire thread for clarification.

One may want to be sure the code 52 is put on MVD file. When I went to renew online, I couldn't. There was a prompt saying the vehicle needed to pass emissions testing. This was only cleared up once I sent in the proper form/paper work. Again, the latest renewel I received, Did NOT say emissions test required.

I don't know about them keeping it on file, since i work in a testing zone i get my cars tested.

I do know that the emissions testing is only required every other year, so if you pay your registration yearly, and you had the car tested last year you will not need the test again until next year.

I only said this because I had to send in proof 2 years later. I had moved from CA and registered in AZ in 05 certifying "no emissions". However, the code wasn't inputted in my (vehicles) records at the MVD.

My registration renewal in 07 said emissions required, but I figured I was safe. But, when I went to renew online,it was allowed due to emissions testing required not be completed.Only after I submitted the forms was I able to renew online.

One could still use the county assessor's information regarding the property. They just want to know the location of the property of residence.Ownership isn't a requirement. The utilities bill in the the vehicle owners name demonstrates proof of residence.Afterall, a person can own a property and not live there :o).

My registration stated "emissions required" But once I changed my address to Maricopa on Service Arizona's website, there was no emissions required statement and I was allowed to pay for my registration. I don't recalll the site asking me if I work in Phoenix or Maricopa County. It would be smart to ask since I'm sure about 70% of Maricopa commutes to Phoenix.

I am facing emissions to. It used to be, I don't know if this is still how it works, but it was  like this...even year cars have testing on odd years and odd year cars have testing on even years. That puts emessions testing at every two years.. I am trying to find a emissions testing station close by. I swear I saw one in Casa Grande but I guess it must have been some place else because I can't find it on the azdmv web site. Does anyone know where the nearest testing station is? I can't drive real far and was hoping there would be one fairly close to Maricopa. Thanks in advance

According to http://www.myazcar.com/, the closest emissions testing site to Maricopa is located at:

20 N. Beck Ave., Chandler, AZ 85226

The Casa Grande MVD Office on Cottonwood, unfortunately, does not offer emissions testing because Pinal County doesn't test for emissions like Maricopa County. The office on Beck is located on the southwest side of Chandler Blvd. between Kyrene and 56th. Emissions testing is directly next door to the office. Hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm / Saturday 8am - 5pm
REMEMBER: Testing is faster mid-week, mid-month,
weekdays from 5-7pm and on Saturday afternoons.

Thank you. Yeah I was reading and I checked it out and it looks like I don't have to do emissions. I have a bit of a difficult situation, my mother died and she willed me the car and the tabs expire the end of this month but I tried ordering tabs online and it said I had to go through emissions. Yet when I checked it looks like I don't have to. Thanks so much for the information

There are certain areas in Maricopa you do NOT need emissions testing at all.    I live in the North Homestead area and am exempt.   You need to go to the registration office in Casa Grande and ask for a CODE 52 form - fill it out, mail it in and Bingo - no emissions.

Code 52 exempt form

I believe you only need to do this if you reside in 85239.. 85238 isn't listed in the "partially exempt zone"... yet...

I am still checking into it, I got so many different stories when I called the DMV so I emailed them and they said they would get back to me. It looks as though I won't have to. That would be nice so I can get tabs. According to what I was told it all depends on where you live. It sounds though like as long as you live in Maricopa you don't have to do emissions. Not sure tough Thanks
