Starts today, and rumors are it's going to be rolled out tonight or tomorrow on SR347. You've been warned. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

<div class='NTForums_Quote'>The primary decision of where to put them will be based on roadways with the most accidents and those with construction zones.</div>

347 probably won't be high on the list.

Do they expect to catch many people? They're putting up signs and we're talking about wide open stretches, so you're going to have plenty of warning to slow down. They'll probably catch the most dangerous: those on cell phones, reading, texting and otherwise too distracted to even be going 65. And that's the concern: they're not doing anything but catching speeders. Heck, they're not even going to go after those going excessively fast, so there is no immediate effect.

We need real cops that can go after those going too fast, or are too distracted or driving aggressively, etc.

i think 347 would catch a lot of people outside of the jam packed rush hours....so between 3:30 am and 4:00 am will be tickets galore! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/w00t.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='w00t' align='absmiddle'>

Just saw on 12 News @ 6.... Photo Radar was in place TODAY on the 347. They also said SR347 will be the primary site for the pilot program to test its effectiveness. The showed some video of it. It looks like it was a DPS SUV set up near the bridge crossing the Gila River.

Here is some more info I found... specifically states that 347 is the primary focus.

I stand corrected then, the article originally posted must have been inaccurate.

People get real. Its not about getting people to slow down its about Money. If they did routine patrols with actual officers people would slow down. This is just another form of taxation. What bothers me about the photo vans is they do not take into account circumstances that may warrant exceeding the speed limit. Like trying to get around another driver thats driving erratically.

I'd really like to hear from all the einsteins who claimed that the 347 really was'nt that bad.....won't be high on the list, and things are much worse elsewhere. Of course you were wrong. But keep attacking the posters who bring this to light. The 347 was the first to receive this....why? Because of the excessive speeds and amount of wrecks.

When I was coming home yesterday around 4. I saw a flash from the SUV parked in the median just south of the bridge @ Rinker. That are is where the speed drops to 55. I don't think it was a flash for me because it was so far in front of me. I think the cameras go off if the speed is 11mph over. I hope they catch lots of speeders!!!!!!!

Were can I sign up to volunteer to hand deliver the tickets to the speeders. Just the satisfaction of seeing the face of someone recieving the ticket will be good enough pay for me.
