White Parker goes thru but is dirt, I think. Smith-Enke to White Parker then back to Honeycutt. They should have 'detour' signs up.

No go... White/Parkier is CLOSED to thru traffic at least it was just this afternoon(at 3:00). When you are on Honeycutt coming up to White/Parker (headed to Tortosa) there is a NO LEFT turn sign and the same for the opposite way(NO RIGHT). BUT again that was today, MAYBE the will have it open tomorrow...but I really doubt it!

You can also take the MCG highway to Murphy then back up to Honeycutt. . . It is the back way but it will keep you on pavement. You might try White and Parker from the highway then back North to Honeycutt as well - I think it is paved - at least most of the way. . . . Hartman also goes through from the highway, but it is NOT completely paved.

and how long will this take? oh say at 6 am?

If you have a family in Tortosa that picks up in Homestead and has to be in the Villages by 6:20am????

What time should they leave Tortosa?

(sounds like a math problem LOL)

You have to go from Tortosa to Homestead to the Villages, and Porter doesn't go through at the CG Highway (or has this changed) GOOD LUCK! You can get into Senita (east of the wash) from the CG highway in 10-15 minutes from Tortosa. . . from there Homestead isn't that far, but I would start by planning about 25-30 mins just to be safe. I do tend to OVER estimate on time to give wiggle room. The wiggle room is in the drive from Senita, because the other is probably pretty acurate and is probably closer to 15 mins.

Oh, and I dont usually drive in morning traffic - only in mid-day traffic. . .

Is Smith-Enke to Hartman to Honeycutt paved all the way through? What about CC HWY to Murphy, is Murphy paved up to Honeycutt?

Ok, Hartman and White/Parker are closed to through traffic from Smith-Enke. Porter is the only street that goes through to Honeycutt from Porter. Murphy and White/Parker are both paved through from Honeycutt to CG Hwy, Hartman goes through but isn't paved. When going into town from Tortosa on CG Hwy I suggest going White/Parker to the street that cuts through Senita, it's the road before Stage Stop, I believe it's marked as Pulte Homes.
Coming into Tortosa I'd suggest 347 to CG Hwy and left onto White/Parker.

The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

Actually if you take Honeycutt and just follow the detour signs it will take you South to Bowlin Rd. Which is only a mile South of Honeycutt and then it takes you back to Honeycutt. I did it this morning to take my son to school and it was really quick. I left ten minutes early and he got there about ten minutes early. So it didn't add much travel time at all!

super dooper easy detour! when heading towards tortosa, just know the detour is off to the right. there aren't any signs telling you which way the detour goes until you get to the actual intersection. but it was very easy and because there wasn't much in the way of traffic, i didn't spend any more time going that way than taking honeycutt every morning.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Does anyone know if there will be a right hand turn lane when going west on honeycutt where you hit porter? There is a lot of room for one it would just have to be repainted. Anyone know?
