Thanks for breaking my windshield today!

Your quick move to slide from the left (good) northbound lane to the right (bad) lane and then within 3 seconds, cut in front of me again, resulted in my windshield being cracked! You didn't even gain a car length in doing so?

You are a friggin' lousy driver!

Thanks ADOT for your great plan. Will you be paying my increased insurance rates for having it repair (yes I have windshield replacement insurance)? How about any tickets I receive driving with a broken windshield until the construction is finished.

Do you have anger issues? This is like the second one of these that you have posted on here... just thought I'd ask. And if you do, what do you drive so I can stay far far away! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'> I think all of us in the past few weeks have throw up rocks at other cars or had them thrown at us, kind of hard not to! It's ok.... take a few deep breaths and don't get the windshield fixed anytime soon! Only going to happen again!

if you weren't tailgating the jeep the rock would have landed before your car got to it.

also, your insurance rates can't be raised, and you had ample warning to find an alternate route if you were worried about condtruction damage.

you're funny.. you must have missed the part where they said that the jeep went around them and cut in front of them .. cause unsafe driving conditions..

Oh.. if you were trying to be funny.. here's that LOL... you wanted.

Nope no anger issues, but tired of the poor drivers that share the road with me.
Nope not tail gating, amazing that a stone can fly more than two car lengths, but thanks for the er... eh. advice?
Yes your rates can increase when you use your insurance. If you don't believe that, ask someone who works insurance.
Yes I know all my alternates and use Casa Blanca, but the 4 miles on 347 was too far I guess.
Yes I know the risks, let me vent. Had the driver not chosen to switch lanes twice with seconds the rocks would not have flown.

Do you really advocate the statements you make?

Sad really.

2 car lengths isn't tailgating?

Yes we do advocate the statements that we make on here. Quit whining will ya! If you have glass coverage - they can not raise your rates! Have had several fixed - they can't raise your rates for it. The ammount of claims does show up on your insurance - but they can't take any adverse action in regards to that info!

The roads are bad, they are now doing something about it and I agree it SUCKS right now, but get over it and just learn to deal! Will be fixed soon and you can be on your soapbox about some other stupid driver that wasn't driving the right color of car and happened to drive past you and not flip you off or some stupid thing like that! Life is too short to whine all of the time!

Kharless - please get in the proper lane and quit whining about things that people aren't responsible for, i.e. rocks flung up on the road. The Jeep did not break your windshield, plain and simple. He shouldn't have cut you off, but that doesn't make him responsible for you windshield.

Are you a moron?

Here is an experiment, I think you should try. Break your windshield once a month, for a year, wait until you get your next insurance adjusted rate, usually every 6 months but depends on policy, tell me it isn't higher by more than a typical 15% adjustment.

Yes the vehicle that cut out of my lane and into my lane again broke my windshield. Plain and simple. Had they not made the move, perhaps another rock might have hit me, but the odds would have been far less.

As for the proper lane. The lane not torn up is the proper lane. That lane is too dangerous for typical driving speeds on 347. So if the Left Lane is the more improved Lane, then I will be driving in the Left Lane.

Whining makes me feel better... hmmm I feel better... Thanks for caring.

Kharless, insurance companies CAN NOT raise your rate for glass claims. Instead of arguing on here call your agent. Oh, wait, you use Titan Up so you could save a few bucks and they don't have agents.

Anyway, if you change insurance companies the new company may penalize you or choose to not ensure you, but your current company can't do anything. I replace windshields about four times a year and have never been penalized for it.

Also, how are you so sure the rock came from the Jeep? Did you follow it as it left the ground to ensure it came from the Jeep's tires? It is possible the rock came from a vehicle in front of the Jeep or even to the side of the Jeep. I have been hit by a rock when no cars were directly in front of me, the only car was about 8 car lenghts in front and to the right of me by two lanes.

Just the good ol' boys,

Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

Makin' their way,
The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

The insurance companies may not be able to raise rates, but they can cancel. In '94 I had two chip repairs in a 6 month period and no tickets. My insurance co. canceled my behind with a ten day notice. I had to scramble around to find a new insurance co. carrier. I showed an Allstate rep the cancel letter from the old insurance co. Allstate took me on and even gave me a lower rate. I've been with them ever since. I'm still not sure why the old co. canceled me other than the two chip seals in a 6 month period.

no, you broke your windshield by following too closely in a construction zone where you knew there were loose rocks. take some personal responsibility.

if you had left a safe distance the rock would have landed, not striking your windshield....physics, plain and simple.

and please explain how the milled lane is unsafe. more surface area for the tires to grab equals more traction. what has more grip, a mirror or sandpaper?

Surface traction is a tricky thing. The surface that is there doesn't have better grip, because of the large grooves. Take passenger cars vs. racing cars. Passenger cars have deep grooves so they can handle rain, but on dry surfaces those tires actually get less traction than the racing slicks that race cars use.

No, I just know how to drive and not complain when there is advance notice of work.

What do you know? I've done that and my rates have been going down. How about that. American Family doesn't rip me off.

Yes the vehicle that cut out of my lane and into my lane again broke my windshield. Plain and simple. Had they not made the move, perhaps another rock might have hit me, but the odds would have been far less.

That's great logic! 'Cause you know, no one ever gets chips and cracks at other times on 347.

As for the proper lane. The lane not torn up is the proper lane. That lane is too dangerous for typical driving speeds on 347. So if the Left Lane is the more improved Lane, then I will be driving in the Left Lane.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Maybe you shouldn't have a license until you know the rules? 65 was no problem. If the lane was that dangerous, they would have replaced the 65 signs with 45 signs for the duration of the project. Looks like those god-like engineers you revere, the ones that you say set the speed limit for everyone's safety, think that 65 is actually safe. And what do you know, it is!

I don't necessarily agree that kharless was tailgating. Rocks do bounce. I was behind a truck the other day, following about 3-4 seconds behind and I was hit by a rock. I know it was the truck, since it was the only other vehicle within a 1/4 mile.
