Exactly, Sinbad:

We are getting what we paid for... That's what happens when you run with the "cheapest" bid, and now we'll be paying for it for years.

They knew what they were doing, they even said that it couldn't be applied at that temperature.

Than .. Why did they do it? They should have put that in the plan.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

They were losers to begin. It was a half-a-- job to begin with. They could have repaved a road across the state in the time it took them to do this, and they aren't even done yet. The residents of Maricopa aren't the whiners, they were well within their rights to complain that this lousy job was being shoved down our throats to begin with. Further, anyone with half a brain could see that this was not being done right since day ONE. Let's put the blame where it belongs, right with ADOT.

Dang!! I did not mean to open a huge can of worms!!!!!!!!!!!! Just never saw roads falling a part so quickly before! Maybe they do things different in the SE with the resurfacing of the roads, they don't fall apart for years after! I know in PA the dumb butts fill potholes with puddles in them!!!!!!!!!!! Then they let the cars run over them to smooth em out!!!!

Live every day as if it were your last and smile!

And now they are fixing the road. how irresponsible can you get? Don't they realize that if they make the road perfect, the fTards in Maricopa will just complain about what a bad experience it was?

There was over 2 million square feet put down and you're complaining about 500 to 1000 sf. that delaminated. When you saw the fog this morning did you think the sky was falling chicken little?

Yes, because it needs to be redone now.

I thought the fog was aliens.

I honestly didnt have too much of a problem with the old hwy 347. I grew up on washboard dirtroads, and i knew where to drive it to find the smooth spots. and right now it seems that i am again increasingly having to find the smooth spots. i think they did a poor job overall. but as much as the rough road eats up tires, at a cost to me of about $400.00 per set, I am more concerned about the cost of suspension repairs from having to drive over the bumps at the bridge connections. I am not sure which one it is, but there is one on the southbound lane (left lane is the worst), that damn near rattles my teeth.
They put up a sign there right after laying the pavement that said 'Bump'. I thought they were going to fix it, but now it seems they forgot about it.
In my opinion it is a poor job, no matter how you slice it.

I am glad someone else noticed the issues with the rubberized surface. Interesting about the worn out patch at the turnoff at Maricopa Road I know it well. Some months ago while I was on my way home from work a truck in front of me tore up that huge section of the road you see bare and sent it flying back over my car. You can see pot holes developing in Maricopa where the surface is coming up in chucks and in my option they should have just put down the standard hard asphalt surface.

I commute I-17 daily to go to work and whatever crew laid that new surface should be commended for their organization and quality of work. During the time they were grating and laying the surface which is a lot wider than 347 I never noted a backup in traffic or delays. I know this is more of an ADOT issue but the crew who did the work on 347 needs to be held accountable. The surface on I-17 is a combo asphalt/rubberized surface however is was laid down a lot thicker. The top layer on 347 is not thick enough.

I hate to complain about issues but for us who have had to endure long commutes, damaged paint jobs and cracked windshields we deserve at least quality work.

I agree and it's too bad, none of the other rubberizing projects have lasted quite like I-17. It was very, very quiet for years, which is quite a feat considering all of the trucks that travel it. It seems that the quality has been going down, to the point where brand new highways, like the Loop 202 within a year sounded almost as noisy as plain asphalt. That was even more magnified once they rubberized the section that goes under I-10.

Even major projects are getting messed up. If you take a look at the new exit ramp for Ray Rd from I-10 westbound it is eroding as well.

I think a 3rd grade class could have planned the construction better.
