Alert | | I saw one of those shuttle vans run the red light at RED about 30 minutes ago. Just cause you pay for someone else to drive you somewhere, doesn't mean they are safe or law-abidding. But they should be!!!! Be careful, couldn't read the name, he was going pretty quick so I can't lay blame. Safe Holidays all

Alert | | I hope the passengers were busy reading the paper or texting on their Blackberry so that they didn't realize how close they came to death. | | Stupid should hurt!

Alert | OMG! That is sooo true. The driver is human. I went to a company Christmas party in The Bay Area 7 years ago. They hired a bus to take us from San Mateo to Santa Cruz and back. My wife was pregnant at the time, so we were leary about a bus ride in general. We got to the restaraunt fine. Coming home was a different story. Most people took the time to snooze from holliday cheer. I was very awake and so was my wife. The road was a twisty road. The time was late. This driver swerverd and left the road several times due to fatigue. My wife opted to sleep rather than watch this insanity. We were held hostage by a driver that could not truly keep it together. I questioned him once. His answer to me was that he could stop and drop us off in the middle of nowhere.
Nice, huh? (Yes I did file a complaint. That did not help us that night, though.)
We never allow thet type of transportation for us. I can get out of a cab or a van a lot easier than this "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride".
I did not have a cell phone on me. If I was in the same position now, I would call the cops and have them tail our vehicle. Heck, I am captive, I am sure I have time to sit on the phone with a 9-11 dispatcher.

Alert | Hey Mallardisme, I had a similar experience a couple of years ago. I was on a company business trip held about 200 miles away from here and since a bunch of us were going we decided to take a company van instead of flying.
On the way back, the driver (a co-worker) began to drive very erratically. He had just gotten some bad news about his job and he was VERY angry so he decided to take it out on other drivers. He was tailgating other cars at 80 MPH, cutting in and out of traffic, and generally being a total creep. There were four of us in the van. I sat there terrified for about 20 miles and then I demanded that he pull over and let me out. He got all apologetic and slowed down but I started screaming at him to stop, which he did, and I got out. He seemed to realize that he was now in big trouble, so he apologized and asked me to get back in the car.
I finally made him give me the keys and at that point I got back in the car and drove back to Phoenix.
This guy no longer works for us. One of the reasons he was let go is that he had "anger management issues". Yeah, no kidding.

Alert | | Watch out for the Harrah's Casino bus. I was stuck behind it practically the whole way to town one day and the driver was driving like he/she was in a car. Trying to change lanes way too much and actually going pretty fast. I thought it was way too fast for a vehicle that was so top-heavy. One over-correction at that speed and we would've all been goners! I tried to get away from it but there were just too many cars around me going the exact same speed that I was trapped. | | Despite All My Rage I Am Still Just A Rat In A Cage

Alert | | Oh, and I see city busses do all kinds of illegal manouvers. My friend who lives in Province who used to carpool with me and I used to have a joke about staying far away from the city busses because of what we had witnessed them do. Running red lights, abrupt and unannounced lane changes, etc. Fun!
