They got me along with two others last night... Right where it drops as you come into town.. when I was going 5 over 55 (60MPH) turns to 45 then 35....I was all of the sudden a criminal.. next time I come into town, I'll be going nice and slow. Guess they gotta pay for a new station somehow.

Thank you for contributing to the cause!

j/k but really, they have said they will start pulling people over for doing just 5 over. Good luck with that.

God forbid they miss someone going 5MPH over the speed limit. Why don't they get the real dangerous people, the drivers who continually blow through red lights? Especially at Cobblestone and Alterra? I literally see someone run a red light everyday. Sad....

A lot of times speed is the reason people run red lights...that and lack of paying attention.

I hear what you are saying though...

So to hear you will have to do Traffic School..

I guess it's what they do!

It's only going to get worse during the holiday's.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

it would have been but he reduced it because I wasn't a jerk... No reason to be one, I broke the law, he was doing his job... a break would have been nice though...

Those plastic chairs at driving school get really uncomfortable after 4-5 hours.

Nope, he was just told to contact the court in a few days and they could give him the info.

You can't do the online course for Pinal County. I tried. The classes are once or twice a month depending on where you want to go. It takes about a week for the court to process your ticket paperwork. Lame I know.......

JasonY or anyone else that cares-- Do you own a camcorder? If I did, I would be about 100 feet south of this intersection on the west side, facing south with film running.

I would get 10 to 15 red light runners recorded, dub the tape down to only the offenders.

Then I would call to be placed as a speaker at a city counsel or a town hall meeting and play the tape, then demand to see the number of speeding citations issued, and the revenue that has been generated. THEN the number of redlight runner citations.

Make this department accountable. 5 over??? are you kidding me? WE NEED ANSWERS

Has anyone called the station to let them know about this?

If I read his post correctly he was caught for going 5 over but for 25 over (60 in a 35). Remember the guy in the pickup who ran the light at 347/RED/CF and killed the driver he hit? Those kind of speeds. He had more than enough time to slow down for the 35 MPH speed limit.

However, watching them around town, they don't really go after the most egregious violations as much as piddly amounts over the limit. Even between two people speeding, I've seen them go after the slower one. Figure that one out!
