Jason- I am so sorry for your loses because of people who have zero regard for life. I have no pity for them either. You are so right! people do drive crazy enough sober.

That driver I spoke of in the original post; I'm not accusing him of being drunk, but impaired? YES. Could have been drugs, alcohol, sleepy, etc.

Whoa, that clock is thought provoking. I'm glad I didn't see the number change!

I too am glad that so many of us try to be aware of those around us. Zero Tolerance for selfish drunk drivers! I wish that their first offense would be their last, but I guess there's no way to enforce that.

missPolitick- Yes you can enforce it! Did you program the non emergency numbers in your cell phone? Calling 911 takes way too long. We gotta get ahold of the agency that covers the area we see the infraction in.

ZERO TOLERANCE is my limit as well as yours. You can enforce it by calling in any trouble you see. Vehicles that wander all over the lane or lanes, excessive speed, checkerboarding in and out of traffic with or without speeding, broken down travelers on the shoulder that appear to need assistance, debrese (sp)in the travel lanes such as semi retreads.

Our taxes pay these state and local officals, and we need to keep them on their toes.

They need us to assist them just as much as we need them to assist us.

If you missed the local numbers to call, go all the way back to this post and read all of it. The numbers are there.

What do you mean by "checker boarding" through traffic? I've found no trouble with making several lane changes to pass cars that don't know how to drive in the right lane. There isn't a problem, so long as there is sufficient room to pass, right?

Very true Jason- you are right. the Slang term "Checker Boarding" is jumping from behind one driver into the next lane to go around another driver, and doing this car by car and lane by lane. I'm not so sure that my description is a good visual, but I know when I see someone maybe 1/4 mile back constantly changing lanes and getting ahead of one vehicle at a time, I give them the benifit of the doubt that they know what they are doing and I stay alert and out of their way. Yep! if that's what you do you are absolutely right. Not all checker boarders are doing it safely.

Don't know where you got this, but that's ok with me. What a reality check. 12957 at my last visit at 6:33PM. I think this needs to be on the main page.

Good for you alanf for caring so much that you would go to this degree to make it a post.

Gotta ask ya though; What does this number of 12957 refrlect?

Crashes caused by Drunk Drivers, or the number of deaths by Drunk Drivers, or both?

Just curious,

Oh, I see! You mean people who make rapid (cut the wheel) lane changes repeatedly without enough room to pass, right?

Those people make me nervous! Lol I always think they are gonna rear end someone cuz they are speeding up when everyone else is slowing down, and then make a quick lane change and do it again. I don't have the guts to try that.

YES! these people that cut the wheel, clip others either in front or behind, is why some vehicles end up in the desert upside down.
I can't muster the guts to do it either. However, there is this punk in a black Tahoe, that seems to get his kicks doing it.

Happened to meet up with him coming out of maricopa, (in the old part of town heading North) and I wanted so bad to follow him into the Bashes center, but it would have been ugly, and I don't like ugly. I may be a Granny, but I can kick butt should I need to.

He just ticks me off, but when he knew he cut me off, I ended up beside him at the light and just smiled. My sentences may be out of sequence, but most of you get the picture.

Just a matter of time! When they end up getting repeated complaints, they will be on the look-out for you. Just a matter of time.

Granny that type of person seems to need thier air changed in thier tires. You should assist them in. Find a small pebbles and place it in the valve stem cap then screw it back on. The pebble presses on the valve stem core and slowly releases the air. Usually takes about ten minutes for all the air to release in a standard size tire.

geewiz- I could, but I won't. The air in their tires are not the scarry part. I would prefer to let the air out of their heads. That is where the danger is. I think the 347 would be alot safer.
