Finally but........the rural area, north and south from the county line to the city from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.?? Ouch........that's going to make for a tough morning commute. So much for working at off peak times. I wonder how much earlier I am going to have to leave for Phoenix??? How many more accidents will there be??? Everyone better pack some extra patience and courtesy.......it's gonna be ugly!!

Is Riggs North or South of the County line? Can't remember if it is or not. If so, then no big deal, just take Riggs instead of going into the construction area! I don't care what we have to do, TIRED of the pot holes and washboards!!<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/crazy.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Crazy' align='absmiddle'>

Riggs is a few miles north of the Pinal County line. What isn't clear is when they will work on the chunk between the Pinal County line and Riggs. During Phase I or III?

They haven't touched the 347 since it was widen from 2 lanes to 4 lanes in 1992.. It does need it..

BUT

do they have to do it at 4am - 1pm? That is the biggest, stupidist Idea I've ever heard.

Why not install SCREEN DOORS on a sub, or an ejection seat in a helicopter? Solar flash light?

I think the work needs to be done from 8pm-4am..

I don't care if traffic is bad....

The hell holes in the road will be worse....I mean ARE worse..

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

Article on the front page says they will be enforcing the speed limit. Maybe they can actually set logical speed limits? Probably not, would be too much work...

As I am pulled over, make sure you wave at me as you pass. I will smile and give my on finger wave back. It's what neighbors do.

Please tell me this is not true?

Phase one (the rural portion of SR 347) includes the roadway between the Pinal County line and the Maricopa city limits (the northern wall of Rancho El Dorado). Actual construction, with an estimated start date of July 26, will take place from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

Thankfully it is true. They've needed to fix that "road" for a long time.

Message boards on the road say it will take three months. History says expect 4-6. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Passed a sign about the construction on 347 saying they are holding a meeting at Santa Cruz Water on Thursday @ 6:30. For anyone interested.

I agree with you...where I used to live, whenever they did major road work, it was done between 9PM and 5AM when traffic was not as heavy (commuter time). Hope the GENIUS who came up with that idea, gets stuck in a four hour traffic jam with no A/C in his car.

Depends on which part of Chandler. I would give your self an hour or more the first couple of days. You could always find a bagel or coffee shop to hit before work.

Luckily I can start at 6 am most mornings but when I have my son I am going to be stuck in the worst of it taking him to school in Ahwatukee.

They probably picked these hours because they did not want the added costs of supplying lights to work at night. Could have also been an issue with the Res and rules they may have.

Question is are they doing a complete resurface or just a patch job. Hopefuly they will replace the entire road. Next they need to widen the on ramp and have two turn lanes to get on I-10!

This may be the only window available to apply the rubberized asphalt mixture. That mixture is sensitive to temperatures that are too hot and cold during curing. Since the times they gave are the coolest we've got, it makes sense that they do it during those times. It is better to inconvenience everyone now than to have to spend more money and time doing it the right way later.

What's this?! I must hereby find you guilty of Unlawfully Quashing Conspiracy Theories With a Perfectly Reasonable Explanation. As you know, this is a Class III Internet Misdemeanor, which demands swift and effective justice!

As such, I hereby sentence you to attend no fewer than three (3) meetings of the local Tinfoil Hat Club, and to watch no fewer than two (2) Oliver Stone films. Additionally, you shall be prohibited from speaking, professing, uttering, or otherwise making known any of your sensible explanations for a period of no less than thirty (30) minutes.

I regret having to be so harsh, but justice must be served!
