 Alert | | why not look at all the cars in that catagory? The caliber is rated low in crash testings and is going to be phased out soon! For me, I wouldnt touch it. There are sooo many cars at that price point, why not look at all of them? Plus with all the rebates on cars, why not buy an Altima, Jetta, Camry or something else that has higher crash standards, better resale and not a Neon replacement? | |

Alert | mine is periwinkle blue, i love it cuz it's different. and of course, i call her peri.
let me add that my grandmother had a neon that i drove on a regular (3-4 times a week) basis, so i am very familiar with both it and the caliber. the neon scared the poop outta me. merging onto the highway was a little piece of H-E-double hockey sticks. i do not feel like that at all in the caliber. i love my little car. | | | |

Jason, I traded in my Grand Cherokee to get the Caliber. And do you know why? Jeeps are supposed to be these tough, off-road, killer vehicles -- and yet the first time I took mine through a mud puddle the front axle clogged up and it never drove well after that. I brought it in time after time to get the problem fixed, and the mechanics were never able to solve the problem. That JEEP was poop -- in a big way. Calibers rule.
Plus, the 14 mpg (Jeep) compared to the 34 mpg (Caliber) is pretty easy to take.

Oops, I meant Jeep Wranglers. I never owned other Jeeps so I can't speak on them. And the gas mileage ain't that great like you said, but I didn't buy the Jeep caring about that. And Jeep Wranglers hold their resale value a heck of alot longer than any Dodge.

..says the second part of the crash test site u posted. you only posted "frontal impact". Try looking at side impact...the car is ranked "marginal". my life is more than "marginal". <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/wink.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Wink' align='absmiddle'>

Demonica, were you, by any chance, sitting at the Smith-Enke light going southbound at about 3:30 PM today (Thurs?) If so, I saw you and peri and man, that IS a pretty color. I passed you on the right and made a right onto 238.
