About 10 minutes ago I was standing at the school bus stop with 6 kids and the school bus stopped to pick them up. As they are getting on the bus this SUV, who didn't want to wait, went screaming around the bus and on his merry way. I couldn't believe my eyes!

Meanwhile there was 3 or so cars waiting stopped behind the bus for it to get going again. What the heck?! Who does this?! A majority of the kids at this particular stop are kindergarteners and don't really have common sense yet and who knows if they'd run out there chasing a ball or what not waiting their turn in line.

I know it's annoying when they stop at EACH and every intersection but these are kids people. Please use common sense (as much as you can) when you are in a hurry in the mornings and don't go blazing around school buses picking up our children. I don't want to log into the forum one morning to see a giant headline about one of our kids getting hit by an impatient crazed driver.

If you have kids or NOT - you still HAVE to stop By Law. Get the Lic # and report to the police.

Children safety is Paramount!

Nobody should be forced to have kids. Some people should be encouraged NOT to have kids. (I thought cavemen were extinct... Maybe for killing their kids at bus stops?) LOL

Look, School buses have red lights for a reason. If anyone decides to race around a school bus like that, they are breaking the law and placing people in danger.
It just takes one time to destroy many lives. It will kill or maim the child, destroy the child's family and.... Destroy the perps life. No amount of time in tent town will ever erase the memory of what happened that day.

Stay safe. Drive as if you are in control of a very large and deadly piece of equipment. (Cause, you are)

Some people assume if the stop arm is not out they do not need to stop on either side. I personally use the rule DON'T MOVE unless the bus moves, or waves you on. Its not worth hitting a child.

If the stop sign isn't out, you don't need to stop. Proceeding slowly and with caution would be the way to go, since the bus may be broken down.

If the red lights are flashing, you do NOT pass it whether the arm is out or not. The bus driver should be given a second lever that slams a giant steel fist out to hit the cars passing illegally. That would be sweet!!!

A. On meeting or overtaking from either direction a school bus that has stopped on the highway, the driver of a vehicle on a highway shall:

1. Stop the vehicle before reaching the school bus, if the school bus is displaying the signal as provided in subsection D and if alternately flashing lights are in use.

The bus has to have both.

don't be surprise if you read an article that states: "coming soon to your community, school bus equipped with video"

i don't like people who uses "signature" on their profile. TAKE IT OFF!!!
