Alert | Lets help eachother out! If you see a DPS PHOTO RADAR SITE post its location here.
Again, please leave the debate to the other threads, just DPS locations here please. Here is a format example:
11.16.07 - Friday, a DPS photo radar vehicle was sitting in the median just south of Casa Blanca, facing northbound on the 347.
Although there may not always be something to add here, if you do see something, please let us all know.
THANKS | | | |

Alert | I, for one, would like to see this forum's administration take a stand and not allow such threads to warn drivers where the photo radar is on the 347. Number 8 of the Forum TOU's state: "post or transmit content that encourages or provides instructional information about illegal activities".
I believe that providing the location of the photo radar on here is providing instructional information to lawbreakers. Why does one need to know where the photo radar is located IF they're doing the speed limits. Only those who are ILLEGALLY going faster than the speed limit care where the photo radar is so that they will not get caught.
Take a stand, Scott. Right here. Right now. | | Censorship is the tool of those who have the need to hide actualities from themselves and others. No. This does not encourage law breaking and here is why: I have gone past several of the digital speed limit signs and each gives me a reading of approximately 2 MPH lower than what the speed my speedometer reads. Because of this, I set my cruise for 2 MPH higher than my intended speed, but I intend to slow down near them to exactly 65 on my speedometer so that there is absolutely no chance of me getting a ticket.
I am not trying to break the law by knowing where these vans are, just trying to avoid a hassle over a few MPH. So that's why I need to know where they are.
It is absolutely convoluted reasoning to think that knowing where public service vehicles are constitutes assistance in breaking the law. No court of law would agree with you on that. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Hey Wikipedia boy..... I never said THIS had anything to do with a court of law and whether it would hold up in a court of law, did I?
I simply asked that this thread be deleted under the Forum TOU's since this thread SPECIFICALLY exists so that drivers know where the speed traps are.
I want the Forum admins to take a stand and not enable those who are attempting to commit an illegal act (i.e. speeding) by giving them a 'forum' for their illegal activities. Why is speeding ANY different than advertising where to buy pot in Maricopa?.... both CAN be felonies, counselor.

I'm sure you meant that as an insult, but your hasty reply neglected the fact that this issue has everything to do with a court of law. The issue at hand is 85239's culpability should a legal case arise from posting locations of photo radar. If you would search, you would find that judges have thrown out tickets for people flashing their high beams to warn of police officers.
Since when do you know, that EVERY court of law would agree with you??
Because the person who is speeding is already breaking the law. Simple logic. Vulgrrrl's reasoning is the popular and flawed, post hoc ergo propter hoc. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | | My beliefs are that the speeders simply need to slow down. So, let's help each other by driving in a more civilized manner. Man, what a concept!!! Being mindful of others, going with the flow of traffic...Oh, and maybe we could help each other by hanging up the phones and paying attention to the our surroundings. I know, it's difficult, but, let's help each other.

From the front page news story: "DPS will not announce the location of the photo enforcement vehicles in advance..."
The POINT of having a vehicle is so that they can move the location at which they check for speeders up and down the highway. It's not like a static camera location, duh!
I'm just saying that if I put a thread up here telling people where to buy pot in Maricopa, the forum Nazi's would take it down in 3 seconds. If I announced that doing a beer run at Circle K between certain hours was a no brainer, the admin. would take it down.
Why should we allow ANY media to report on the location of the cameras on 347? It would seem that being a good corporate citizen, should be more important than to allow drivers to break the laws of this county, state and country to 85239.com.

Alert | Not to be rude ,but didn't the article on this site mention there is supposed to be a sign that is posted 300 feet before and after the van set-up aaaaaanyways? That's one pre-warning right there so I don't really see what's wrong with mentioning it on here too? ...Although, I didn't see a sign posted on Friday morning by Casa Blanca Rd. Did anyone else??? I wasn't ready for my close up?! ...lol
