Alert | Who agrees about the road pavement and blocking the road? We are not aloud to go home, go to work, go grocery shopping.
We have to do something. Where should I write a letter? to Whom?

Alert | This whole project was poorly thought out. The weekend is a big time for us to run errands, but we've been pretty much barracaded in our home, or seriously late (despite our best efforts to allow extra time) for nearly everything.
I can't wait for it to be over.

Alert | I know, poor me.. but for the 1st time in my life today I actually felt trapped. We were stuck on 347 coming into town for about 35 minutes. No where to turn around, no exit to get off, no side no.. nothing. We get into town and you can't turn into Rancho and the people that were trying all were confused as to where to turn since the turn lanes were all blocked off too. People couldn't turn into Fry's and everyone was trying to down Honeycutt. It was all completely crazy.
It's just a strange feeling and I feel bad for everyone who has to deal with that on a daily basis!

Alert | | If they paved during the week we'd have 200 complaints. If they pave on the weekend we have 200 complaints. No one is happy! Cry babies!! Wa!Wa! When should they pave the road? Deal with it, it's temporary. Just think, when the road is completed the road hogs can go back to their 100+ mph. The accidents will definitely increase! | | 25th Infantry Division <---- Tropic Lightning

Alert | It's so good to hear that I am not alone. I thought about the Casa Grande, but I work in Chandler M-F, can you imagine how much mileage to do ... there has to be a better way. Ace of Spade, we are no overdramatic, did you try driving lately, all week and weekend?
I heard that they will be done this month and then I read that they will be done in March (better it is too coldright now) ... Bull, it's still hot, warm enough that some States that is summer weather for them. Are they trying to make us move away?
There has to be something we can do ... or maybe it's a city that doesn't listen to it's residents?

Alert | | I am so tired of listening to all of these complaints. Apparently when selling houses out here, the realtors had this conspiracy theory and blindfolded everyone when they drove them here so they wouldnt see that there was one way in and out of town. You all knew that was a fact when you moved here, remember that you chose Maricopa, it did not choose you. What kills me is that the same people that complain about the construction were complaining about the bad road conditions before (not on here yet, but when you hear it around town). I've lived here for 10 years so I have seen 347 go from a nice peaceful stretch of road to the worst part of my drive, you dont see me writing to complain to the developers about building houses out here and ruining my drive. Here is a novel idea for everyone, if you find yourself stuck in traffic, turn off the DVD players, the Ipods, whatever else is on and talk to your kids, play I-spy with them, ask them about school and their friends, RELATE to them instead of stewing and maybe even cursing ADOT or the car in front of you. You may find the time informative, fun, and maybe even stress releiving! If you feel stuck in Maricopa because of the construction, do the same thing. Get involved with the community, meet your neighbors, volunteer somewhere, help clean up your block, go to the park, play with the kids or your pets. But please...stop complaining about everything that is a necessary part of the growth and expansion that you want down here so badly. I cant wait to see if the people begging for a Wal Mart end up complaining about the lines being to long once it opens...As Java said, take a breath. Once you have done that, calm down, adapt, and find alternate things to do, you may end up even being glad that you did.......

Get involved with the community and get to know your neighbors, your so tired and pist off by the time you get home from work from driving on 347 you don't want to even be around anyone. The City needs to get involved more, the town is going backwards, sad to see.

As "silence" said....run away. Run far away. Then you won't be so pissed off anymore.
It's only your opinion that the city is going back-wards. We've been here a year and a half and have seen tremendous growth and still growing. | | Senior Member Posts: 4625 Joined: Feb 2006

Alert | Run away, that would be nice, but I'm stuck with my home. I'm sure I am not the only that can't afford to move or too stop working to get involved in the community. Most people work and work in Phoenix, which have to travel on the 347. It use to take me 25min. It sometimes takes me 2 hrs. Ya, you are right 5 months
It's not that we are complainning, I kept my mouth shut for a while, but now, it's ridiculous. You close minded people, you probably don't have to work so you don't udnerstand

Alert | Of course I drove this weekend. Guess what. It added all of 30 minutes to my drive times this weekend. What in the world are you doing that 30 minutes is that big of a deal to you?

Alert | | Oh my gosh I can't believe the complaining! Have you never driven around Phoenix or any other state?? Traffic happens and when YOU choose to move to a city with basically only one road in and out of places, have some patience when they choose to improve that road for YOU. Try living in NYC where roads are being worked on for several years or take a trip through Phoenix where they are getting roads ready for the rail system. That has been going on for years. Take a trip through Tempe near ASU and look at those roads and the construction taking place. You are being naive to think you are the only one inconvenienced by traffic just because you live in Maricopa. Sure it can get annoying when you commute back and forth from Maricopa to Chandler or Mesa like I have had to do when traffic is at a standstill and you spend a majority of your day in traffic, but that is a part of life when you choose an expanding city and state. Oh and the comment about "maybe you don't have to work" is just dumb. Of course the majority of us work and drive that stretch and are qualified to have an opinion. Like it was stated before, it is temporary and I am sure once this is resolved there will be complaints about other things from the same people. Honestly, if you don't like the town so much, get out. As a matter of fact, please leave and take your negativity and poor attitudes somewhere else.
