It was bumper to bumper from just before the Rinker light. I bailed out at Riggs. Anybody know what the problem was?

Work has started on the last 6 miles to I-10. Speeds picked right back up after Riggs. I went through at about 5:45 AM and had a total of maybe 5 minutes of delay.
Looks like this last 6 miles (Maricopa County)will be a lot smoother evolution than the Pinal County side. Everything they worked last night was also paved already (no milled driving). Watch for rocks though as there is still some debris.
Use 511 on the cell and say State Route 347 for current info and work schedules.

I left this morning early cause of RED, always backed up. Today, nothing, I was the 3rd car. Not the 60th.

I hit Rinker at 6:20ish and it was backed up till just after Riggs.

When I got to the end, it was 1 adot truck in the left lane, 4 people standing around.. doing nothing... they had the lane blocked off for nothing! I was sooo mad.

Lucky there was no traffic at RED, or i'd be really late. My manager has been good with it.. but I just hate being late.

Mike, I went through at about 5:20 and both lanes had been reopened. I wonder if they closed it again so ADOT could inspect the work during daylight?? Maybe they just had to look again because they couldn't belive it had been milled and paved in one night.... LMAO.

There are a lot of schools on fall break starting this and next week. So that will lessen the traffic for a couple of weeks. Enjoy it while it lasts. :o)

5 minutes my butt. It took me 35 minutes this morning to get to I-10. When you call 511 it states that ADOT is working until 5am. Obviously they are not getting all the lanes open in time.

I turned around at the rinker light and went back to casa blanca. That road is closed too and you have to detour around a little bit, but I think it was still faster. And we thought they did a poor job of managing traffic on the first phase of the construction. Somehow they managed to top them selves. The only way they can top it now is to just completely close the road down!!!!

I was 10 minutes late to work yesterday because of the back up. I adjusted and left 10 mins early this morning... today I was 20 mins late for work!

Can't wait until this over.

This is BS. Those idiots at ADOT need to monitor this thing better and ensure the fools who they contracted to do this job are out of there by 5:00 a.m. I left 10 minutes earlier than normal and was 25 minutes late to work. Had to turn around and go back to Casa Blanca and turning left there took almost 15 minutes in itself.

They are who we thought they were!

Here is the reply I got from ADOT when I emaied them...Be nice but flood his inbox.

My name is Brock Barnhart and I handle public information on ADOT construction projects that are within Maricopa County. The project that has begun is very similar to that which has been completed south of the county line. The contractor for the project that is taking place now is also the same. The current work times are within the contract specifications which allow the contractor to work during the nighttime hours but the northbound roadway must be opened to two lanes by 6am. In meetings with the contractor, it was strongly suggested that two lanes be opened by 5am. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know what is taking place out there so we can continue to make suggestions to the contractor to minimize the impacts to traffic as much as possible. Please feel free to use myself as a contact for this particular project and again it is our goal to deliver the upgrades to the roadway while ensuring the impacts to the public are minimal.

Thanks,
Brock

I received the exact same reply from Brock at ADOT. Please continue to email or call him today so this doesn't keep happening. There is no reason they can't be done by 5:00 a.m. Our tax dollars fund these projects and we shouldn't be screwed on all of them.

They are who we thought they were!
