Alert | Which one? This guy?:

I think they're just about to start the trial on the alleged 5 charges of allegedly exceeding 85 mph and reckless driving, allegedly.
The photo radar pic of him says he is allegedly going 122 mph. Isn't that like hurricane force wind speed?

Nope, I'm talking about the one (last year I think) that was snapped going faster than his Hyundai could go.
I've lost all confidence in this technology. Today I went by one near the intersection of 54th Street and Chandler Blvd. This thing was reading 50-70 MPH when no cars were going past it. When I went by it read 62 MPH, even though I was only going 38 MPH. The only thing I can figure is that it caught a bird going past. I did get to watch it register 67 MPH for one driver while I was waiting at the light. I'm pretty sure the traffic wasn't going nearly that fast. Now, if this had been wired up to issue tickets and not simply "your speed is", you can bet that guy would be at least getting a visit from DPS, if not getting arrested for criminal speeds.
How are you supposed to defend yourself if the radar portion reads the speed of a bird but the camera snaps you? This is just wrong. | | Joined: Jul 2005
