Description overturned vehicle. Caution
It appeared to be near Wild Horse Pass. Not sure how this will affect morning traffic...

Alert | There was a rollover about 2 miles south of Rinkers going southbound. I passed it around 6:05am and police and EMS were just arriving.

We went through around 7 and saw the car at Casa Blanca. My thought was it tried to cut across the Northbound lanes to turn onto the Southbound lanes and was going too fast to make the turn? Purely speculation on my part, though... | | | |

Maybe they swerved to avoid something or another car? It's easy to lose control if you don't know how the car handles. | |

Typically, single-vehicle rollovers on multi-lane highways occur when the driver makes a miscalculation during a lane change, and then yanks the wheel at the same time he or she slams on the brakes. The forward momentum from the rear of the car essentially presses on the front tire with the greatest amount of surface (braking) contact, and the center of gravity can shift. With enough force at the right angle, nearly any vehicle can roll.
The most common incidents that precede these types of wrecks are drivers who attempt a lane change without checking a blind spot (either noticing at the last second, overcorrecting and losing control, or causing the other driver to attempt to avoid the collision and lose control), misjudging oncoming traffic while passing on 2-lane highways and losing control while trying to get out of the way, or oversteering and losing control while engaged in some other activity (i.e. steering with the knees while putting on makeup). | | | |

Alert | | my dh passed it this morning and was waiting right in front of it when they stopped trafic. He said thier was 6 police cars and 2 fire trucks. Then the helocopter was just about to land. The firemen went with a stretcher and a white body bag but came back empty handed. He said they probally couldn't get him out right away. So sad. | | | |
