Do you know of anyone who has had their car taken from reservation police? I don't see how they could just take your car. Sovereign Nation yes, but there are still laws.

I don't know of anyone, but other people here have said that they know of people it happened to. Because they are a sovereign nation, they could impound your car for trespass.

How can you impound for trespass if there is no sign that lets you know you are on reservation land?

That's not their problem, apparently.

I tried that way. I didn't know it was off limits in any way, but then, I drive a Jeep Wrangler, and taking dirt roads is a fair to regular deal with me.

Is it really illegal to drive on this road? I've only done it once, but I won't do it again if it's truly off limits. I didn't see any "Do Not Enter" signs. I just saw the sign that said, "not a County maintained road" - but a lot of the roads that are FUN to drive aren't! *smile*

There is a sign that says "This is not a county maintained road and you are entering Gila River Indian Reservation". It also say no trespassing or dumping. I have a Gila River Contractors license and take this road often....multiple times I have seen people pulled over by the REZ police. I don't know if they can impound your car or not...but they are definitely pulling people over. Enter at your own risk.

A forum member did get popped once. The Sheriff's Dept. also has stated this is the case. Knock yourself out.

I drive up Murphy Rd when I know there's a problem with 347. I always drive the limit though, because I don't want to get scalped.
