Alert | | Which is it? It looks like they could squeeze three lanes of traffic on there without much of a shoulder. | | www.motoXriders.net

Alert | 'without much of a shoulder'...I really don't want to feel like I'm driving in Mexico with the speed demons that drive on 347. 2 lanes and shoulders will be just fine. LOL people drive on the shoulders anyway.

Alert | | Because 347 has little in the way of places to pull off, I really don't think they should shrink or eliminate the shoulder. I think it would be very difficult to put proper shoulders in and fit 3 minimum 12" lanes (which is really small considering the number of large vehicles that go through). | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | | i say 3 lanes....eliminate the left side shoulder and it can be done with plenty of room in each lane for all sizes of vehicles with enough room in the right shoulder to do your business | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | | Ooops... Yes, I meant 12' lanes. 12" lanes would be the right size for remote controlled cars. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | Three lanes is not the solution. Breakdown lanes are there for a reason. Ask anybody (and there are many) who have had flats on 347! It would cost a pretty penny to add a barrier in the center of 347 and add the third lane in the middle.
Another route out of Maricopa proper is the ONLY solution. Imagine a second route on the east side of Maricopa that led up to Casa Blanca over to I10. You know, something around the private ASU grounds. It would give us another route out of the city besides doing down to BFE Casa Grande! Our commutes would not increase by much either.

I think you meant "U of A" agricultural grounds. I do also believe the surrounding lands are owned by the natives

Alert | | A barrier would be expensive, but I think it's a necessary thing. So many people talk about how everything would be better and there wouldn't be any fatalities if everyone drove the limit. Well it may be news to them, but cars have crossed medians like 347's at 45, 55 and 65 and still caused fatalities. A barrier should be a necessary expenditure. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | you can die at almost any speed. i love it when they say 'speed' was a factor in these fatalities. of course it was!!!! if you never got out of bed, chances are, 'speed', wouldnt be a factor!!! retarded. and i know a bit about speed; i can tell you that speed doesnt necessarily kill. its the lack of respect for it, and it's accumulated force's. but mainly the sudden stop that gets you.
