Hi - first post & needed to vent...

I live in the Villages & the posted Speed limit is 25 MPH, but I have faild to see anyone follow this. There is a Big problem during the mornings when kids are going to school & still everyone speeds.
This seam to be the norm in Maricopa???
Follow the rules & get run off the road!
What is the Fix???

RED. Unfortunately, 25 MPH. I would like to see it raised to 35 MPH, since that is a very safe speed for a road that does not have houses directly connecting to it.

I have my van floored everywhere I go. Unfortunately that is only about 25 mph.

VREDS...

25 mph.

(I do have to catch myself sometimes....I am only human)

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

It's so easy, because 25 is really, really slow. 35 would be perfectly appropriate. I turn onto Desert Greens Dr and it is very easy to get up to 30 MPH with the downhill. I always back off and set the cruise for 25. Don't want to get nailed from a hiding cop. Zero tolerance and all.

Hope you've got a radar detector. I've seen them hiding behind bushes and on the sidewalk.

The speed limits in Maricopa are so inconsistent. Along Honeycutt going east it's 35 MPH then 25MPH through the wash. However, the main road in Senita is 35 MPH. JWP is 35 MPH as you get into town.

I think all the main streets in communities where no houses directly access the road should be 35 MPH then the standard 20 MPH on the residential streets. Any main streets like Honeycutt and JWP should be 45 MPH. It's rediculous that I can go 35 through Senita but also have to go 35 on JWP...

Just the good ol' boys,
Never meanin' no harm,
Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

Makin' their way,
The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Just good ol' boys,
Wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

usually about 30ish, from time to time ill catch myself going too fast and immediatley slow down. I, also at times like to put the cruise conrtrol on 27 to piss off any tailgaters.

The problem with raising it to 35.....those that are driving 35 now, would drive 40+.

I do the posted limit due to the fact that I myself have two children and I would be livid if they were hit by a car speeding through my neighborhood, especially walking 2 and from school. I take them to the bus stop some mornings and MES already has the 15MPH signs up and I can't tell you how many people are flying past the bus stop in the school zone!!! I say do the limit people, you never know when a child could cross out in front of your vehicle.

That's a bit of a myth. Studies have shown that most people drive a reasonable, safe speed, regardless of what the speed limit is.

If you have a posted speed limit it needs to be enforced, or is just a waste of a Sign... I Am all for Speed bumps on Butterfield parkway... If people would drive reasonable & at a safe speed I would not be venting on this forum...
It is very sad to see drivers speeding up to get past a Bus before it stop for the next group of kids???? WHY?
It is sad when I turn on Butterfield and there are no cars around when I turn, but 500 ft later I have 2 cars giving me an enema... WHY?

Done ranting for now...

I like to drive at a safe 45

i'm in CF. i keep it at 25 on the "main streets" and slower on the actual residental streets. I agree with PP, if my child were to be hit by a car by some crazy speeder, I would kill them myself. I see people flooring it down my street, just to hit the brakes to make a corner, WHY?
If you are speeding down a street in CF and a crazy lady screams at you to SLOW DOWN (sometimes with or without the accompanying Ahole name), that's me.

If you can't spot the loser, it might be you
