Alert | All paving work has been scheduled so that rush hour traffic will not be affected. This part of the resurfacing project is scheduled to be completed August 24.

Actually they Mill then Pave. The Rubberized Asphalt is what they are paving its one step not two. The Rubberized Asphalt is a different mix then a non-rubberized mix so it also is one step.
I too was wondering what is going on. They said the Paving portion of the project would be completed today and yes a lot of paving jobs run over schedule but this is no where near being done.
I have to question why Pettera Asphalt's machinery was mobed from the job site this morning as the project is no where near completed and that is the Subcontractor laying the asphalt.
Working for a Paving company I asked what was going on with the shoulder work (being so much higher) but no one around here seemed to understand why they would do that unless there were multiple lifts. Although Rubberized Asphalt only requires one lift and more would seem odd and unnecessary.

Alert | I've also wondered about the paving of the shoulder, what it necessary? We need the lanes first, then the shoulder. After seeing the shoulder (both directions) paved, I thought they were going to make this a 3 lanes highway?
Anyone wants to chime in on this? I'm also wondering if this project could've been done when the weather gets cooler, rather than in the peak of the monsoon season and IT'S HOT! Now the project is only going to be done during night time????? | | | |

Alert | | I think they might have done the paving and rubberizing separately anyway. If you drive south from Phoenix on 347 now, for a few miles the right lane is the same height as the shoulder. This section is noticeably quieter than the section that isn't the same height. | |

Alert | | They don't have to renegotiate the land, because they are getting no more land. The Native American community has already stated that years ago. That is it, it is all we get, period, no more, nada. That doesn't mean that they cannot put another lane in there and then put a concrete median in. That part is ADOT's fault and probably because of lack of money. | |
