Does anyone know why part of the shoulder on the 347 is the way it is now? Atleast parts of it....it was so nice when one lane had started to be paved..so smooth and then suddenly one day there was this section added that looks like big globs that seeped over to the newly paved lane!!! So now if you drive in the nice lane to keep your tires a little longer, you've got to be careful that for that uneven section? Can someone help me out and tell me what it is and why it's like that? Are they going to put another layer or something...and if SO, why the heck wouldn't you wait until you had TWO nicely paved lanes before messing up the one you just did...

For some unknown reason, they decided to add the rubberized layer to the shoulder before finishing the base layer repaving. Just have to keep the car going straight down the lane.

my truck has a pretty wide stance, and if one tire catches the raised part, it pulls and swerves. I have to do the one tire up/one tire down thing to stay in my own lane! drives me crazy!

That's impossible YZRacer. Jason said, just yesterday:

Oh come on! Who drives on the shoulder? How can you count that? And there is only a 1" difference between the unpaved and paved sections of 347. It is currently actually in better condition than before the milling. If you have issues controlling your car on the milled surface, you either need practice or need to stick to the right lane.

So, you better come up with a better story than that.

I don't know what kind of ruler he is using, but one inch by BUTT! good grief!

And i've seen plenty of motorcycles riding on the shoulder lately. for safety I'm sure!

I said that there is a one inch difference between the paved and unpaved sections, i.e. the left and right lane.

Does it work if you keep the left tire of your truck on the unpaved section of the left lane?

but my issue is the 4 inch difference between the paved section of the road and the super paved section of the shoulder.
i don't have an issue with the paved vs milled sections

What I was getting at is that, in some sections part of the left lane is milled and not paved. Will your truck fit if the left tire is on that milled section or does it still ride up on the "shoulder" (even though there is no striping indicating it is a shoulder). Or you could just do like semis do and ride at an angle.
