Sorry Beth, that is incorrect. Jason thinks that the reasonable and prudent speed law is for him to drive faster than the speed limit if he deems it safe.

If you could drag stuff out you'd see where I admitted I was wrong. However, do not believe it is safe to travel with such great speed disparities. Do you not agree?

Further, the speed limit is 65 when going north out of Rancho El Dorado towards Phoenix. I will explain my reasoning: When turning right out of Rancho El Dorado, there are no posted 45 MPH signs. Without a posted speed limit, the default speed limit of 65 MPH takes effect. They cannot legally hold drivers to a speed limit that is not visible to them.

NO, yellow/orange 45 MPH signs are suggestions. White 45 MPH signs are ticketable. Bizybeth was correct.

Was that while they were working? I drive during non-construction periods (Daylight..LOL) and don't see the workers now.

I saw a 45 "Fines Doubled" sign out last week while there is no construction. Just yesterday the northbound lanes had a "Workers Present Fines Doubled" sign out at ~5-6 PM when no work was being done. Sloppy.

I sent an email to Meadow Valley. Hopefully they will provide clarification on the speed limits. I'll be happy to go 45, if they post proper signs and enforce it. I will not put my life at risk when it is clearly unsafe to go that slow.

How could you possibly be looking for signs when you were in fear for your mortal soul out there Jason. And don't be using your power of quote placement to misquote me buddy.

Now, since the people coming from Maricopa(other than RED and CF) fall under the 45MPH speed limit...does that mean they can speed up without a 65MPH sign... I don't FREAKING THINK SO BUDDY!!!!!

RED/CF are the only ones that get to use the fast lane!!!!

What happened to reasonable and prudent? How about this, the speed limit is 55 along the stretch of 347 between Maricopa Rd and Queen Creek. You are going 60. Are you speeding?

Pulling quotes out of context only makes you look bad Alan. The real trick is if you can find the one where I said I was wrong.

I believe if you continue reading that section, you'll find out that I proved that the offense for driving 60 in that section is "Waste of finite resources". You will not receive a speeding ticket.

And:

Speedling is a ticketable offense no matter how much over the limit you are going. Period. How they class it is a different topic also.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You missed my other post then. 60 in a 55 outside of an urban area is not speeding. Period.

Then Jason starts to crack a bit with this reply to him from Maricopa Cabana:

So why does D.5 exist?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the same reason as D.1-4, these are times when it is reasonable and prudent to drive less than the posted speed. E states that unless these conditions exist it is not prudent to drive slower.

But he still does not admit his misguided thought process:

Hmmmmm.....very interesting explanation. I'll have to think about it.

Where do you admit defeat Jason. Did you pay Carolyn to delete it????

But that's not the one I was looking for Jason. That one does not appear to exist....well, maybe in YOUR memory

You can't even pull a good example Alan! 60 in a 55:

28-702.01. Urbanized areas; waste of a finite resource; civil penalties

A. If the maximum speed limit on a public highway in this state is fifty-five miles per hour, a person shall not drive a motor vehicle at a speed in excess of fifty-five miles per hour on that highway. If the speed at which the person is alleged to have driven as provided in section 28-707, subsection A or the speed at which the court finds the person drove is sixty-five miles per hour or less, the offense is designated as the waste of a finite resource and is a civil traffic violation subject to subsection B of this section.

Therefore: The citation will be for "Waste of finite resources" and not speeding in excess of reasonable and prudent.

Oh, keep reading.

Not an official speeding ticket, but a civil traffic violation. But since you get a ticket, you were still breaking the LAW.
