my hubby is stuck in the traffic on 347 but he says there are no cars leaving town on the northbound lanes, so i'm not sure if they are detouring people back to the i-10 or not. also, he said there are fire trucks, an ambulance and a helicopter. he hasn't moved more than a few feet in over an hour. i know i'm jumping the gun by assuming it's another accident, but please can we just SLOW DOWN on 347! it seems like everyone on here is saying the same thing, but then there are all of the crazy speeders still. we have our children on these roads. i drove out of town today and nearly got run down by people going wayyyyyyy over the speed limit. i really would like to keep my children safe, so please....please...please....slow down.

this time i want a smart president!

Can we wait to hear official details before we start tarring and feathering people? Before we start blaming things that may not be the problem?

The Southbound lane is now a northbound lane with traffic headed back to the I-10. The "Northbound", Southbound lane.

Where is this report? How fast was the driver going? What was the speed limit? Were there "Workers present" signs up?

What actually caused the accident? Don't say speed, was it a driver not making a lane change like they should have, falling asleep, drunk, etc?

It is sad though that a worker was injured.

Well I posted this in the general section but I guess it should've gone here.

so I just came home and I left from Ahwatukee from about 9:45 the accident must have just happend because fire trucks and an ambulance flew by. The police were just putting the lights/flares in the road. The accident was just past the rinker light and I could see about 10 cars stuck between the accident and the light. The police would not let us pass and we had to make a u-turn at the rinker light. On the drive back another cop wasn't even letting people go to the rinker light and everyone else had to make a u-turn at Riggs.

I went down the 10 to Casa Blaca Rd. and it was o.k. from their. I literally just walked in the door to tell everyone it's backed up. I was like the 5th car and around the bend I could see at least 60+ cars behind me.

I hope it wasn't fatal. My prayers to the ones involved!

I'm looking at the report as we speak, Speed limit posted is 45 MPH, Signs where posted Workers present. Pick-up came thruogh area at High Rate of Speed - that cause ADOT worker to jump over the bridge wall.

Casa Blanca Rd is best route into Maricopa. We do have a sign in Phoenix/ Tempe area at I-10 / Guadalupe of "SR-347 closed at Riggs use Casa Blanca Rd"

Wow, it sounds like maybe a drunk? If he had to jump off the bridge instead of just the shoulder...
