Print this out and keep it in your car for future use! This is directions to Maricopa - reverse the route to leave.
Fritzy......thanks for putting this up. I think you pick your poison with any of these alternatives. I heard the news of the accident last night, called a friend who was already trapped and going nowhere in the mess, called my wife, and decided to exit on Ray and go have dinner. By the time I was done, my friend who took your Casa Blanca "alternative" was about 40 cars deep still tring to get on the 347. So the moral is.....if you are'nt already trapped, and you try one of these alternatives, you're probably just as screwed. Thank-you though, I will have this in my car just in case.

Alert | | I NEVER take Casa Blanca. Every time I do, the police have it blocked off and won't let you turn left. The LAST time this happened I was the next car to make a left, and he just pulled up and blocked me off. I was ANGRY. I waited 30 minutes in line to make a left only to have to turn around and take Val Vista anyway. So I only that that route if there is an accident. I will not take Casa Blanca again until the light goes in and I am sure the accident is south of the light.

Alert | Tried Murphy Rd yesterday because 347 was down to one lane leaving Maricopa.
This road is rough, maybe from the recent rain. It works, but use caution.

Alert | | So this will help end some of the wonder and confusion. Yes you can get a ticket for driving on ANY of the tribal roads. My husband was driving on Murphy RD. headed to Casa Blanca. Our power had gone off some time during th night, so needless to say we were running late. My son goes to school down at Santa Cruz, so it makes sense to just try a more direct route. Well he was pulled over as he got closer to Casa Blanca. He got a $100.00 ticket for tresspassing and then impounded our truck. This all took place on the 19th of November. The truck was to stay impounded until the 19th of Dec. By him pleading guilty to civil tresspassing he was able to get the truck out after 3 days. So after a $220. impound/towing fee, and a $100 ticket and 2 days of missed work we have our truck back. I will not drive on those roads every again.

Alert | Nothing against the indian reservations, but I have to ask this fundamental question:
If Indian residents are allowed to drive on Arizona roads, then why can't we drive on theirs?
If they elect to arrest us for trespassing, should we not do the same the next time they drive through Maricopa?
Just wondering. | | | |

It's the deal we made with them. I'd like to think they'd give our fellow citizens warnings before they just start impounding vehichles and imposing big fines. Their policies are their policies and I respect that, but cut your neighbors some slack.
