Alert | | Does anyone know where all the northbound side roads lead to off Casa blanca? I was tempted to try and see on Monday but was too chicken.. afraid I might end up out in the middle of no where? Just exploring alternate routes out of Maricopa in case 347 is backed up (not that it ever happens, of course) <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Alert | | A word of advice- don't drive on those roads. If they are in the Reservation, and you are not authorized you could find your car being impounded.

Alert | | They most definately are on the Gila River Indian Community. They go back to private homes and smaller villages. Don't go experimenting and four-wheeling to find an alternative route. It could be costly.

Alert | | No four wheeling here... When I was going down Casa Blanca I saw a few other cars turn down there so I thought maybe I was missing something!! I will definitely stay on Casa Blanca or 347... Thanks for the advice...

Alert | This was good info.. I noticed them too..
humm... Will not go down them at all.
| | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Joined old forum March 2006 Post count: 3068 + these | |

Alert | dumb question here:
it's okay to drive thru casa blanca, but not recommended to go off the beaten path, right? also, is there some myth about this road that i heard some else saying....something about it being scary? other than scared of getting a ticket....ahahahaha. | | i don't like people who uses "signature" on their profile. TAKE IT OFF!!!

Alert | Casa Blanca is fine because the state has an agreement with GRIC for it to be a public road.
Those other roads - no agreement, so no public access and you're subject to the tribal courts rules and rulings, which include the ability to impound your car and charge you fines that they reservation determines.
I've taken Casa Blanca a number of times where the traffic is too heavy on 347 - there's nothing scary about it. You just go past some houses that most of us would prefer not to live in, but there's no boogy-man jumping out at you.
The only 'scary' part is trying to find your way through the mangle of ramps to get onto I-10 (if you miss the correct turn - don't try to keep going and hope you'll catch up with something later - I found out the hard way, that makes for a VERY long detour.) I think the signs have been improved (either that or I got more used to them) since the first time I got turned around there.

Alert | | Oh, and there is a school on that road, so watch for when the speed limit drops, especially durring the school zone hours (they're posted on the speed limit signs).
