Anyone know what's going on NOW? Hubby just called PISSED! He's sitting in traffic yet again. After this morning he's officially losing his mind.

Well I'm not sure what to say about the last hour of my life right now. My drive home from Best Buy on Ray was a surreal experience.

ya, it was a little frustrating sitting in traffic with the groceries in the car getting warm....

Same here...took me an hour to get back from Chandler Mall. And I had to pee. I'm carrying a bucket in the car from now on.

I wish ADOT would post the daily work schedule so I can plan my trips to and from "the big city". Sheesh! Can' they do this work at 2:00 am or something?

I've NEVER ever seen major work like this done during any rush hour. In my experience, not just in NY, but also in Gilbert, all this stuff was done overnights and on weekends .... is Maricopa and ADOT trying to create insanity??? If only one ofthe people, in some decision-making capacity would respond to this forum and answer these very simple questions everyone might feel if not better AT LEAST informed!!!!!!

I saw them working around 12 am yesterday I guess they're working around the clock. I totally agree that they should not be working during rush hour (am or pm) but they're in over their heads now. Too much ground to cover, and they only have until the middle of October to finish!!! I'm just so happy that I changed jobs so that I don't have to commute to Phoenix anymore!!

Call the AZ DOT at 602.712.7355 and press option 3. I have been calling everytime there is a traffic backup to complain, and demand they provide better notification to Maricopa residents and start exploring new highway options. No luck so far, but if enough people start doing that, they hopefully will cave to the pressure. Someone does answer the line at times, he is fairly helpful, and can put you in touch with the construction crew for updates.

It took us over an hour to get from Ray to Cobblestone. Insane!

Actually they have. They started tearing up the asphalt within the city limits last night. But, I am just a little frustrated with ADOT not sticking with what was originally planned, that's all.
As much as I want to stay here in Copa, things like this, traffic, school board issues, within school issues, city personnel discrepancies, city council making deals to profit themselves, land deals with the city, annexation of a whole lot of land, and of course still no Wal-mart is just making me re-think staying next year... We still have a year to see how Maricopa will improve. Yes the construction is only supposed to be till November, but there is still only one way in and one way out.

Calm, they haven't started the city portion yet.

Yes, they have. On my way home yesterday I noticed that the southbound center lane from the city limits down to the light at Cobblestone had been ripped up and repaved. There weren't even any lane markings denoting three lanes anymore. Just the fresh black asphalt to denote the difference. They also had cones sitting beside the northbound lanes between the RED/CF and CF light. They have definitely started work within city limits.

I went through around 5:45-6 and it only took about 1/2 hour. Of course, I noticed that they had someone setting up, not tearing down construction signs. What were they thinking, starting work during rush hour on the southbound side?

I just hate the fact that it takes so long to get out of the city in the morning. 15mins to go from Fry's to the light at the REDS.

for the 8th straight work day.... Crazy!!!

I think they need to retime the lights so that there is a steady flow out of the city all at once... not stop here at this light ...then go to the next light and stop... then the next light and stop.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

OMG! I left the area of Chandler Blvd and I-10 last night a little after 9:30pm and it took me an hour and a half to get home. (Tortosa)
Has anyone seen the movie Bruce Almighty with Jim Carey? That scene with him in his car and he's holding on to the steering wheel and completly wigging out that his car is swaying around. That is so how I felt last night. What is freak? Why don't they (ADOT) finish the part that they already started. The roads in town are not as in need as the roads to and from town. C'mon! So then I get to Smith to make a left and the intersection was so badly toar up I heard the underneath of the MCPD car scrap the whole underneath. And it was one of the new Chargers too. Very disappointing.
So finally I get through the light and I just wanted to drive like Cruelea DeVil the whole rest of the way home. Griping the stearing wheel so hard that my knuckles turn white.
Grrrrrrr!!!!! Rest assured that I behaved myself and tried really hard to obey the posted speed limits. I really don't want a ticket. Personal bet between the bubby and I as to who will be the first.
