 Alert | | Just a heads up, the light at Riggs is flashing red and causing a pretty bad traffic backup for anybody heading into town this morning. There are DPS officers there, but they aren't directing traffic. Unfortunately traffic is moving 1 for 1, 1 person through riggs, then 1 person through 347. It added about 35-40 min onto my drive time this morning. | | | |

Alert | | We had to turn around. It took us more than 30 minutes to drive less than 2 miles. Husband is driving kids to school now....taking Casa Grande road. Traffic was backed up all the way into town. | | | |

Alert | | Head's up as well for those taking Casa Blanca as a detour. My sister-in-law is still waiting to get on the 10 fwy. She says she has been driving for an hour. I left early and saw the breaklights ahead past Casa Blanca and also the row of cars trying to turn into Casa Blancaa. I then figured I should turn right at Casa Blanca as well! I guess I got lucky(well sort of if you call having to take Casa Blanca as a detour :crazy<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'> Anyhow, good luck everyone. | |

Alert | | I Just read on adot that this was planned.Since 4 am this morning adot shut the light off at Riggs rd. and put it into blink mode??? it dosent say why they would do such a stupid thing and cause a MAJOR mess out on the 347 . I turned around and came home, I sat out there for an hour and a half and only made it to the concrete plant.Why waste the gas, Its a day off for me. | | | |

Alert | | Just FYI - This was not plan. The storm that passby early this morning cause the traffic signal to go into flash mode due to power falure. When the power comes back on, it goes into reset mode. that might take about 30 min give or take 10 min. If the traffic signal is still out. Then a trouble shooter will come from Phoenix (North of Riggs) or Tucson (South of Riggs) and that can take up to 1 - 2 hrs to arrive on scene. Then ADOT runs the check list (30 min). Thats 2.5 -3 hours before the traffic signal comes back on. Local P.D./ DPS directs traffic control not ADOT. | |

Alert | | NEVER TAKE CASA BLANCA AS AN ALTERNATE ROUTE - WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE THIS MORNING. I have heard people say to take this road when there is a back up so I tried it this morning. Here is my review of this route: Scary road, scary town. Slower than Maricopa. Even if there were a potential to save you time, which I cannot ever imagine, I would rather sit still on 347 than sit still in scary town. | | | |

Unfortunately DPS was not directing traffic control, at least not when I was on the road. If they had been, I imagine traffic would have been flowing much better as they should have been allowing a lot more traffic through on the 347, only stopping traffic every 5 minutes or so to let people cross on Riggs. I left home about 5:40 and got to riggs about 6:25 to find DPS officers standing outside of their cars just watching. | | | |

I got stuck on the Casa Blanca...
Took me 1 hr 45 mins to get to work.. and it only takes me 40 mins usually! | |
Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

Alert | I left at 7:30 am & took Casa Blanca. Not the best day to take Casa Blanca. After getting on the I-10, there we 2 accidents between Casa Blanca & Queen Creek. I finally got to work on Elliot & Kyrene at 9:00 am. What a great day for traffic!!
Does anyone know what was going on last night on the 347 from 7:30 pm on? It looked like they had the 347 coming into Maricopa down to 1 lane. | |

I second that...I left an hour and 15 mins before I had to be to work. The only reason I was late was because of the backup at Riggs this AM. | | | |
