Alert | You are not doing a half bad job.
Let me be the 1st to say I was thinking, OMG, this is going to be bad.
But for me, you know, I haven't had any issues really. Yeah I've been 10-15 mins later coming home. But you know what, if you step back and look what they are doing..
They have been doing a pretty darn good job. I mean, they are already paving even.
I haven't got a chip 'yet', but I am expecting one. I have heard a few hit the truck, but that is expected.
I mean come on, there is NO way possible they can get every rock..
Who here has had a chip on the 347 before construction? *raises hand*.
Its just gonna happen..
So I think I am going to give credit, to where credit is deserved..

Alert | i agree. they are already paving. and for all of those complaining about rock chips...it IS a construction zone. and they DID give you AMPLE warning that it was coming. now if we could only educate the weak and timid on the speed thing...

Alert | i agree mike, had ample warning, if i was worried about chips i could take the i-10, and move out of the desert where the natural landscape isn't gravel. my commute isn't noticeably longer, i still leave my place around 6:35 and i'm sitting at my desk by 6:55. the ride home isn't bad either. plus we will have a fresh road in only a few more weeks.... | | Follow your bliss. Alert | I agree the work has been going smoothly and it hasn't hindered my commute much at all either. I was expecting long back ups but those traffic analysts and engineers actually know what they are doing!!
My window chip thread was in humor for all of those complaining. Chips happen all the time- whether there is construction or not.
Look forward to fresh smooth roads. | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Alert | I agree - I haven't had many problems either. My drive to work is a few minutes longer because people just seem to have to slow down to watch work being done on the OTHER SIDE of the road, but that's not ADOTs fault.
I am dreading the couple of days next week that I'll have to drive home, then right back out to Chandler, since on some days the outbound traffic with the construction has been horrid and I will have a very tight window of time to make the round trip - so on those days, everyone leaving Maricopa, please wait until after about 4:30 to head out of town

Alert | Well...
Let's just say I take the long way home because my car feels like it rolling over boulders when I drive on the graded road. (Dang tight a$$ suspention) | | Just doing it one day at a time.
