Alert | ok, not that i know anything more than the next guy but i really think maricopa is in trouble. so many people bought houses and now can't afford them, and they aren't worth nearly as much as the people in it owe. that means refinancing isn't an option and neither is selling.
i think the market is returning to sanity after several years of excessive growth into phoenix metro. with so many people coming in developers seen the chance to put them in new houses. some people seen the chance to make a lot of money and did it, others seen people making a lot of money and tried to do the same but were too late. some people were just unlucky that the time to buy a house happened during an extremely inflated market.
a lot of people talk about how so cals prices keep going up and expect phoenix to do the same. i don't agree. so cal has more draw than here, just because of the ocean and slightly more forgiving climate. so i don't see here following suit.
I also wonder how many people that moved here from the east coast and midwest will want to stay past the 5 year mark. I can't see myself here that long before i'm sick of the hot summers, dry days and no snow. i've spoken to many people who are talking about going back for more affordable real estate, family and to get away from the heat. we'll see what those opinions are around january though.
personally, i already own land in Pa, and i'm here because my job is part of the housing market. i'm making some good money here, and my fiance is putting herself through school in town. i got 2 more years before construction starts on my streamside home in the poconos. maybe if the market gets back to normal after that we will pick up a winter home in the area, but for now renting is the most cost efficient way to live in this area. | | Follow your bliss. it's because people don't think the rules apply to them. there is no sense of responsibility or courtesy anymore. I am that person that will tailgate the car in front of me to prevent you from cutting in front of me. OOPS! you missed the freeway entrance? not my problem, you would have made it just fine if you got in line like everyone else! I follow the rules, so should you!

LOL! You mean you follow some of the rules.

Alert | | When I'm on the freeway..IF and IF people signal I'm usually nice and let them in.. But people cutting to get to the I-10 is very Irritating. It's not fair that people have to wait and they cut in. What irritates me more is that I have my kids in the car and people speed to cut me off. They will cause an Accident and they will have to wait even longer to get to the I-10!!

Alert | | I speed up as well, as to not let them get over. Why should I let them get over? We all know it's one lane. WAIT YOUR DANG TURN!! | | I'd rather live one day as a lion, than my whole life as a lamb.

Alert | | This happens all over Phoenix every day at every big intersection. Try going from South on the 143 to get onto the 10 East and you will see a line 50 cars deep and people zooming to the front to jump the line. This is just the nature of the beast in a big city. A lot of people will lets these cars in too which I don't understand.

Alert | haha! yesterday, my GF and I were turning onto the 10 when some a55 in a P.O.S lifted truck tried to cut in but I wouldnt let him and the guy had the balls to turn onto the freeway from the the other lane, like it was a 2 lane left turn!! what a loser! ...then today some car cut infront of the person infront of me and caused the driver to slam the brakes almost causing an accident. I even heard tires screaching behind me...thats the kinda stuff that pisses me off! | | "...you knew that before you came here"- The 85239.com's stupid answer to every comment"

Alert | | If you heard screeching, then the driver who hit their brakes did not react properly. I have a hard time blaming only the person cutting in line when the people in line act just as juvenile and then surprised when they have to slam on their brakes. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | Why do people feel the need to cut others off to get on the 10 freeway?

Alert | | Because there is only 1 turn lane and lots of slow moving trucks that have huge amounts of unused room in front of them.

Alert | | As Darin said, we hate it when people cut in at any time. No excuse for it. In fact, not a single time we have had to wait an unreasonable time. It actually goes pretty quickly and we get on the I-10 right away. Most of the time it is just inconsiderate people who don't care about other people that ALSO have to get to work on time.

Alert | | Have you ever sat behind 4 fully loaded semis and gravel trucks? 20 minute wait. I rest my case. No way am I going to wait for it when there is tons of open room in front of them. That is a perfectly valid excuse. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | | No, never been behind that many trucks. However, even if I did, I would not disrespect everyone else that is waiting behind for their turn so that I can make it to the I-10. I like to follow the rules, cause I wouyld not like the same to be done to me.

Alert | LOL! It's not disrespecting people who chose to waste their time. When traffic is backed up like that and there is a 1/4 mile in front of the truck, I'm going for it. You can choose to waste gas, time and pollute more if you like, but don't pretend that there is any disrespect involved. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | Besides, there are no "rules" that say you have to get in at the back of the line no matter what. This isn't an amusement park ride or something.
So does that mean if I decide to go 40 MPH on 347, everyone should stay behind, so as not to disrespect me? | | Joined: Jul 2005
