As I was driving home on the messed up 347 tonight I was doing some day dreaming about 3 lanes in each direction. That's right folks 3 in each direction! It would be so nice to incorp. the far right of the 3 lanes designated for the large trucks (tankers, live stock movers, Rinker.)this way the other two lanes would not only stay in good shape longer, but the flow of traffic would be nicer. Okay Okay and then I woke up!

We think about that everyday! and we think there is enough room for that... who makes the decision? can we as a members of this city do something about that?... Whomever is in charge should take into consideration this... so we still wonder what can be done...

First you got to get the Reservation to approve and fund it. Then you have to get the city to approve and help fund it. Then you have to wait for the engineering evaluation, then the proposals from contractors (bidding), then selection, then schedule, then, maybe sometime this millinia work could begin, but wouldn't be completed in our lifetime. Sorry. But, hey, what a legacy to leave our children.

LOL! The idiots at ADOT will take this under advisement for the 2015 SR 347 improvement project.

They are who we thought they were!

Just seems like piss poor planning to me! A lot of $$$ going into the roads it seems like they would want to get it correct right now and widen at the same time and repairing!

Not really this will be an ADOT issue. We have enough right of way to do it without getting the Indian OK. The City isn't responsible.

Adot already has years of road projects planned. Projects that were on the board before we started our hyper growth. It would be a little unfair to assume just because we all bought in an area with a lack of access it should now be moved up on their list of priorities.

Now the city can do what other cities have done and contribute a large amount of funding to facilitate the expedited build of a 3rd lane. This would likely be a contoversila action since it could mean more taxes from our pockets.

Once the lanes are refinished and the second turn lane is added we may see a smoother flow on the roadway.

Would they have to rebuild the bridges? They don't appear to have enough room for any more lanes.

Yep, they would have to widen the bridges. That doesn't necessarily mean they'd have to close them, but it depends on the situation.

I still don't understand why they need more land. There is a gigantic median they could expand into...

No extra land should be needed, we have fence to fence.

ADOT sucks. I say we write the tribe and beg them to build their own toll freeway with very few offramps directly to the 10. I would pay a toll, and we wouldn't have to rely on ADOT. The tribe with Harrahs could contribute.
