Does anyone have any idea if there are plans to build a bridge on Honeycutt where it is now closed due to the low water crossing? I remember reading something about this awhile back, but can't remember if it was planned or if they're just thinking about it.

It's "in the works" but I don't think a time frame has been set yet. The big rush was to get the one closest to Tortosa/Rancho Mirage done so we could get out without driving 100 miles to get to Fry's. We can take Honeycutt to Porter to Smith-Enke now, which is what I do most of the time.

The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

I agree with you njparks. The city has better things to spend their money on. A bridge is not necessary there as there are other ways to get around it. IMO, it probably won't be considered for another year or so.

i believe the bridge was also put in there to avoid residents from having to take a major detour to get home in case of road flooding there....last time i read something....the larger bridge was supposed to be done sometime in 2008....who knows though....

these city officials ain't gonna get an idea as to what's important and what needs to be expedited to ensure the road infrastructure runs efficiently.

i don't like people who uses "signature" on their profile. TAKE IT OFF!!!

forget the bridge, did you all notice the straightaway's yesterday on Honeycutt were more flooded than the dip? What have we got ourselves into here. Thank goodness it only rains during Monsoon season.
But for those concerned over a lack of a bridge, it does look like they are building up to it as far as the rest of the road and the sidewalk are concerned. It wouldnt make any sense to make everything look nice from both directions and then suddenly have an ugly dip in the road. Just going to take time, just like widening the 347 and installing a traffic signal at the end of Honeycutt.
