what kind of idiot would pass a sign that says "road closed, wash flooded use detour" so they can drive an 1/8th mile up the road to the road block that won't let you pass so they can turn around?

i seen 10 cars pulling a u turn in RED because the road is closed. this was all in the time it took me to walk to my mail box, so maybe a minute.

do some of you think road closures and floods don't pertain to you?

I saw that too & asked mysef the same question? But I find it intersting that there is no sign on Smith-Enke stating the detour (placed around VRED opening BEFORE Vintage) Is it just me or is that odd?

Are you saying they went past the big barricades and right up to the water? If not, didn't it occur to you that maybe they wanted a closer look? It is legal to go all the way up to the "Road closed" barricades.

when i got home from work the signs were set so a car could not fit through. went for dinner, came home and found one of the signs moved to fit cars in, while water was still flowing accross the road. took the dog for a walk and at least 30 cars passed the signs and drove to the end of the water, pulled a u turn and headed back the other way. a few people with trucks crossed the water, i think i counted 5.

there is a lot of "laws and posted signs don't apply to me" mentality around here. is it because the locals are arrogant, ignorant or do they think they could get away with it because there wasn't a local PD for a long time?

I think most road closed signs are for people like you that have no common sense and need to be told that they cant cross!!! I for one grew up in a mountain town and any time it rained i had to make a decision weather I could cross the river and head into town or not. People like you live such a sheltered life and I feel sorry for you. You are a sheep, you need to be told what to do how to do it and when...and that's OK but dont get mad when you see someone cross the line to go check out the wash and let there dog play in it. In fact i crossed the baricade this morning, and there was no water flowing!!!!! Guess you cant always trust signs anyhow be a happy sheep and quite your b!tching!!!

It's all a short cut .. until someone gets water in the car.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

your right, when police put up "do not cross" around a crime scene we should wander right in, those lines on the road are just a suggestion, and all laws are horse crap, because we are all above them.

i guess since your a hardened mountain man you know everything, we should just follow your lead and always remember we are better than everyone else around us.

Yes that's exactly what I am saying! You got it, I knew you would come around. I think it would be easier for you to just continue to be a sheep though maaaaaa maaaaaa (making sheep noise).

Vinny if you had such a problem with it why didn't you come and say something to me about it. Calling someone an idiot is pretty easy on the Internet<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>. Anyhow hopfully it floods again today, my dog loves it and I will pass the forbidden line aaahhhhhhh.

oh ummm

Vinny, if you dont see the difference between driving up to a flooded wash and entering a crime scene, then you have problems!

i'm not worrying about calling you an idiot in person, on the internet or anywhere else. its quite obvious you enjoy spending your day behind the keyboard just being an ass.
