If criminals would advertise when and where they were going to strike, cops would have higher apprehension rates. Alas, they don't! But idiotic drivers, speeding, swerving, or just being stupid, advertise for all to see, even our boys in blue.
Yes sometimes you tackle what you know will happen and hope your training and effort helps deal with the unknowns.

I have seen a number of other threads including yours talking about the problems we have with vandalism in our community. The lack of police support on these issues is making residents take matters into their own hands. I would much rather have a police force that goes after the bad guys and helps our community than goes after traffic violaters just because they are easier to catch. If the police don't get on top of the problems here I fear that we will have ourbursts of vigilante justice. AlanF if you have something intelligent to contribute I would appreciate it. Your "MPD can do nothing wrong" attitude is very detrimental to our city. | | | |

You know who did it. MPD knows who did it. But the question is can it be proven to the satisfaction of a jury with a conviction as an outcome. Is there a credible witness that will testify, or is it all he said/she said?

I never said the MPD can do nothing wrong. I'm sure they have made mistakes. I'm also sure that there will always be somebody making false claims, and unresearched opinionated statements. I see MPD out giving tickets....good for them. I also see them patrolling neighborhoods and responding to calls. Are they doing an adequate job? Time will tell. Use the media to tell your story, if they're willing. Let them dig and nag for you. Maybe that'll get some cooperation or at least an acceptable answer as to why the MPD cannot do anything, if that's the case. Do it and quit whining. If there is a CASE which is LEGITIMATE and PROVABLE, DO IT! I think you are just blowing wind out your butt. Alert | One last post before heading out. Bigblacktruck did you turn to damage over to your insurance with all the info you have. They will go after the kids parents for the damages to your vehicle if you have enough proof who is responsible for it. If they don't it time for a new insurance company. My wife had someone scratch her car in Fry's parking lot and two different people had seen them and got the license plate number and left it on the window with thier names and contact info. Even though the damage repairs was below our deductible they went after them and got our money back.
